Hiya!

I'm quite new to the multiboxing thing, i've been following these forums for few months now and decided to write little introduction of myself.
Originally i had 3 accounts, which included epic geared lvl 70 elemental shaman, lvl70 prot paladin on other one, and epic pvp geared dps warrior and hunter on third.
First i started doing some simple dualboxing with netherwing daily grinding with hunter+shaman, but then after finding this web site and reading more and seeing the awesome videos, i started thinking the bigger picture.

Around xmas/new year i bought 2 more accounts and rolled 3 shamans and 1 mage. Plan is to use the lvl70 prot paladin to boost+grind thru instances with them. So far this has been working very well, after few evenings of setting up the accounts, macros and stuff i had em at lvl22. lvl 10-15 DM, 15-20 stockade, 20-22 SFK, and then i decided to give SM a try, and managed to get quite fast at it, clearing SM cathedral in 2 pulls in about 15minutes including looting (i did it also in one pull but then i dont have time to loot the corpses in time before they dissapear :). Money making there was quite good, got like 20 boe blues that sell very high on my server, got around 1k gold by doing SM aoe from 22 to 44. I stayed at SM bit longer prob then needed coz i still needed more silk to skillup mage's tailoring. After that i visited ZF shortly to do few quests there, followed by tanaris/hinterlands quest clearing. At 47 i entered BRD and been doing this now 2 evenings and the alts are now lvl50.
Using lvl70 tank to boost em thru sure does nerf the exp a bit, but that hasnt really bothered me that much, i have enjoyed the process alot and having awesome fun. And i'm known to have high resilience for endless mindless grinding, so instances it is all the way and then some.

The plan is that once i hit 70 with the alts, i'll be doing instances (normal/heroic) with combination of prot pally/4shamans or 3shammys+1mage. And some 4 x shaman and friend's healer in 5v5 arena tryout ofcoz :)

My hardware setup has been undergoing some changes, ..i work in a computer-magazine as technical expert so i have tons of free hardware hanging around. So first i tried 5 pc's. Worked okay, but wasnt quite happy with it. So i switched to 1 pc (portable) with 2 monitors, using Keyclone, G15 and Xkeys pro available aswell. This weekend im planing to try out bit different hardware ..Imac 24" 1920x1200, Intel Core 2 Extreme 2,8Ghz, 3gig ram, running with windows vista. I think it will do the job quite nice and enough big resolution to nicely have all 5 wows on same screen.

I tried all 5 WoWs on a 1920x1200 24" screen, and frankly, the windows were too small to do much with. I now run my main on most of my 24" and the 4 alts on a 20" widescreen. The 840x525 windows for my alts are about as small as I can take, and I plan on getting another 24" to have 960x600 windows. I think that once you get under WoW's minimum default resolution of 800x600, everything has to be squeezed into too small of an area. If you can handle using horizontal span with two equally sized monitors, even if the main is smaller than 24", I'd go that route.

I am very excited to hear your reports from trying this on the 24 inch iMac. I have had my eye on this comp for a while since making the switch about 2 years ago I really don't want to go back to Windows. Is your plan to do all windows on the 24 inch monitor or are you going to try and hook up a second monitor. Why are you going to run vista on the mac? Any and all information would be appreciated thanks.

And when does your magazine do a favorable write up of the whole deal?

Now that would be cool, especially if it can be written to tell the real story of multi-boxing rather than the common knowledge of no-life, stay at home, bachelor men...

((And I know you didn't say you were a journalist yourself...))

Admit it, Xzin... You're a shim at heart. ;)

After all, all your toons are female.

...

Assume male unless the characters/avatars/name/etc are female, then assume female until otherwise disabused of the idea...

Besides unless someone comes out and says "hey I'm male" what the hell does it matter?

((Sorry sore point for me.)) ((See avatar ;) ))

The heck is a shim? A she him? *laugh*

I play female undead vs male undead because females are prettier to look at. Male undead are goofy and ugly. Plus, losing to a "girl" in PvP is marginally worse.

But I never purported to be a female in real life.

There are SOME female boxers out there! There have to be!

I doubt there are many female Multiboxers.

WTB nude Multiboxing photos if there are though.

A shim = him who is also a she = guy who plays a girl character. ;)

And unless you're a necrophile, I hesitate to say that the undead females are "pretty". ;) They rank right up there with tauren females.
