Hey guys,

Long-time Keyclone user, first time poster. I stopped 5-boxxing for a long while once I got all my characters to 80, and with Cataclysm fast approaching I decided to blow off the dust and start preparing for another awesome round of 5-box leveling!

Little problem, since I last used Keyclone, only one of my 3 computers (I use 3: 1 box on worst computer, 3 on my media computer which is designed to handle many applications at once, and 1 on my main computer which is designed for best performance) is 'registered' for Keyclone anymore. One of them says registered, and the other two both say invalid system ID or something like that, even though it's still the same machines.

So I went and dug up my receipts from Paypal for all 3 machines, with the old system IDs and I emailed them to the email address listed on Keyclone's website and still haven't heard anything back and they still won't work.

Does anyone know if the guy who runs Keyclone still exists and is supporting the product that I paid 3 times for? I would really love to get my 3 fully paid for copies working again as opposed to having to swap over to another product :-/

Help?

small edit: I used the email address keyclone _at_ solidice _dot_ com to make my request

Just click the "get license" button or whatever it says, and use your registered email when prompted.

Transfer your licenses.

Yeah, I'm trying to transfer them, and what I'm saying is that I emailed him several days ago and have not gotten a reply. That's why I'm asking if he's still active, or am I possibly using the wrong email addrses to request it?

He hasn't been on this site for awhile, the software itself hasn't been updated for over a year. Rob still plays from what I've been told and he still supports his software. I doubt he's in a rush to check his e-mail but everyone says if you call him on the phone then he will fix you right up.

Exactly what Fenril said.

Awesome, thanks! I have no problem calling him once I'm ready with all the IDs, I was a little afraid to call in case he wasn't supporting it, but it's good to hear that he is.

Thanks again!

You shouldn't have to call him just to transfer a license. As long as you have access to the same email address that was used to purchase the software then you can transfer to a new system-id.

Every now and then one of my Keyclones will pop up and say that the license expired because my system-id changed. I think it is because I take this computer to another location which is on a different subnet. Every time I bring it back it says this. In Keyclone, if you go to "about" at the top, there is a "get license" button. You need to have the newest version (v1.9i) installed since this hasn't always been part of the application. You will receive an email with a weblink, follow it and it will ask you to choose which system-id the license should transfer to. Once you click the "ok" button or whatever, go back to Keyclone and click on "re-check" and it will change to status "active".

The above-mentioned method worked for me yesterday.
