spent some days gearing and setting up my last group on the road to 80: 5 belf female pala.
my 10th grp to 80 xD.
i was curious to do some instances to test idea: holy paladins look + playable with patch changes.
today completed to craft the gear, long process coz my main guild is in ally side (45 lvl 80) and cant create anymore chars here, so need to move one pala to neutral banks etc...here horde is really low populated and weak (8:1 ratio), so AH sucks badly.

today finished glyphs setup, talents etc.
this group is lvl 77.
gone in Hall of Stone normal.
never done with this grp, so good opportunity to gain achievement and see how it goes.
5 holy, 5 beacons, word of glory self cast spamming, no other direct healing macros:P
some strong healing talents.
dps is generated with holy shock+CS+HW+Judg+exorcism+engineeer trinkets.
with beacons up, final boss cant bring me under 50%
aggro is not managed. it s left totally random:P. trash gone down, bosses same.
dps is low, but in pvp for example is not a great issue (this grp is planned for pvp). final boss fight, divine favor and AW up, 1100-1400 dps range (min-max).
it s interesting.
will test some pvp (bg).
at least the 3+ level to 80 i need will be less boring hehe:)

Hm, so how did the pvp go with all holy paladins ?

I am not liking my rets at the moment.

77-79 it s been amazing and a real "massacre".
i could keep busy whole enemy raids, died rarely, and farming heads like a killing machine.
seen alliance stop playing when i was around in bg.
if you paladins in level stage 70-79, go in bgs, holy. with blue gear in some bgs got my whole group 1st in dmg and healing:)


at lvl 80 total different results. negative. dps is really too LOW.
there is an abyss between lvl 79 feelings and lvl 80 feelings.
my criticism about current gameplay is stronger now: looks a beta stage, not a live stage. add here: scaling issues atm(?)?
not sure if the change in exorcism dmg (nerfed a bit) hitted me and my grp. but it s just a little reason.
for me difference in gear dont justify these poor numbers in dmg output at lvl 80.
my idea is atm holy is unbalanced in 70-79 bracket. at least for pvp.

high resilience in my targets is a huge issue.
really hard kill fastly, kill targets with high health pool is a nightmare.

get melee range looks me now not a good idea. CS and white dmgs are ofc ridicolous low. absolutly not useful.
grp works better if played as ranged grp, but several abilities have just 20 yards range, and ppl around run to me fast:).
still have excellent survivability. fights could be long minutes.
lack of real aoe and lack of burst dmg on single target do multi-targets situations really long or fatal (for me): hardest to kill for me are warriors, paladins and in general healers (for lack of burst).

wtb a pvp trinket! or be human!

Rating requirements for Arena Wrath gear has been removed. The requirement on the tooltips are a bug. Since you are doing BG you can spent the Honor Points on Wrath Ornamented gear.

Prega, I assume you are still talking about the same Paladins, that JUST hit 80? Please don't expect that any fresh 80 team 2 years into an expansion would be any good at all. Paladins, Shamans, rogues, doesn't matter.. if you have no gear, you will get no results.

My holy team is progressing. So far so good, i am doing well and still PvPing, I will release a video when i can.

It's NOT a faceroll team. It's a careful BG team. The best way to play this team is by supporting your teammates and dishing out dmg when it's safe. Don't get in a fight with 15 horde, you will go down, yo are still vulnerable to snares, fears, AOE etc.

I dont do a lot of pvp, but this week I had to get 50 HK's for the holiday meta. I did a simple Hammer, Word of Glory macro and with 54k hp, 680ish resiliance and swinging the mana/heal seal I didnt do much in the way of DPS, but holy crap I was retarded hard to kill. In one Eye of Eternity bg I had 2 deaths and over 70 HK's. It did take 8 or more to take me down.

Course my guess is most of the other people there were not pvp experts either, just going for the meta.

hammer, word of glory macro? I don't understand.. were you prot for this I assume? 54k HP?

Yes, Prot spec. Macro was just a 2 spell cast sequence of hammer of the righteous for one holy power followed by word of glory for a heal. talents and glyphs made this to be around a 3k heal on average up to around 12k when it didnt burn holy points and they stacked up. It also had a /cast hammer of wrath at the bottom for that little something special when they fell below 20%.

I tossed the shield and judgments around a bit, but not that much. Like I said, it was a way to easily get the 50 hk's and it tied up the opposition as they tried to kill me that let the dps types do their job. The heal seal and word of glory put out a lot of heals.

Paladins, Shamans, rogues, doesn't matter.. if you have no gear, you will get no results.ofc totally agreed. i geared them a bit with saved honor account bound tokens. got almost full furious set+ 264shields, relics and some saved 264pve stuffs. gear is not the best ofc.
i just want say how strange is scaling with this updated gear in 80 bracket.
i dont expect to stay unkillable, i expected to get better numbers in offensive abilities, expecially if i watch at numbers(dps) i got in 70-79, proportionally ofc. the surivabilty is still excellent, expeciallyif you consider i macroing HS with [harm] only conditional.

PS: try explain more:). in previous WoW patches we have class abilities/skills with ranks growing with levelling up. example rank 1 holy shock at lvl X, rank 2 at lvl Y and so on. now i cant understand how current abilities rank system works. is it just based on gear stats(?). or what? and how i can have a measure of abilities improvements changing level(?) with same gear.

You used to have a spell, which for argument hit for:
Rank 1 (at level 10), 10 points.
Rank 2 (at level 20), 20 points.
Rank 3 (at level 30), 30 points.

Now you get the only rank (at level 10), and it hits for:
At level 10, 10 points.
At level 11, 11 points.
At level 20, 20 points.
At level 27, 27 points.

So rather then having an ability that hits very hard compared to the previous rank, you have an ability that scales with level, for a gradual improvement as you level.
