Does anyone have any input on boxing rogues for arena/rated bgs? Curious to see how it would play out ty :)

It's been dicussed quite often.

The problem with rogues is survivabilty. Once you've burned your defensive CD's your a target dummy.
Same goes for offense, once you've opened and used shadowstep your very vulnerable and used most of your tricks.

Rated bgs you are likely adding too much team concentration to a specific area. You will likely need to take on more 4 people concurrently to justify 4 people always in the same area.

Sure a bg team could agree that you would be a safety / floater person moving from hot spot to hot spot. But that has similar issues.

Also coordinating rezes needs to be very very fast. There isn't a stealth mouse move your freshly rezed guy 500 yards while you deal combat, your team is down a guy which is likely a big deal in rated play.

I don't think I will ever try with rogues but I could see being able to take the healer out with backstab and maybe another wack then killing spree and fan of knives then go from there. I don't do hardly any arena at all, though so I am just theorizing.

Edit: Sapping their plate wearer might be a good idea. Too bad you can't quickly focus on each of them and sap them and take care of them one by one. At least I couldn't do that.

Today's BG game is all about killing/more often achieving objectives with the least amount of characters required. If 1 rogue can steal the flag, bringing 4 rogues will be a loss to your team. When you do need more players (most likely to kill), Rogues are not that good with firepower.

So my thoughts on rogues: double rogues work. More than that it become a goofy team again. Unless of course, you are in a 40 man BG. Then any 5 man boxing team work.

If you bring 4 of a class bring some utility and big burst.

4 shamans, 4 druids, 3 or 4 demo locks and a healer...

4-5 slots in rated BGs may make or break your teams. I have my single rogue ready incase 4 ele shams hinders my teams too much.
