I've spend about 7 hours on the dummy to try out various gear, gems, etc. As you will know we no longer get the 3% hit from talents, nor does misery from shadow priest or faerie from boomkins helps us. Meaning that for raidbosses we need to go from 11% hit to 17% hit (446 hit rating, draenie 420). However we get a talent that converts spirit (which used to be mp5) on gear into hit. So the resto bracers & belt can help a shitload to achieve that. Those are the only 2 changes I made, I still go with 4 set pieces T10 and the crafted legs. I used to have a cloth or leather piece here and there, but we get a 5% int (spellpower) bonus if we wear only mail. Which put me way over the cap. So reforging i went. But into what ...

I first reforged spirit I didn't need into haste. Then crit into haste. Dps was more or less the same. After very long sessions of nuking the dummy I came up with this:

- only reforge into mastery
- hit/spirit that you have left, reforge into mastery (this was only true for 2 pieces)
- reforged every piece with crit into mastery
- didn't touch haste

I got a 1600 dps increase by this on multiple sessions (from 11-11,5k to 13k). Felt like sharing and wonder what the dps experiences are from other people who reforge in a different way.

Same here friends. Got Crit down to about 30% and Mastery just at 9%. Figured I would try and take it further today.

Since reforging hit beta I stacked all mastery it's the only way to go.

Every class seems to be focus on these stats Mastery & Haste ignore the rest you'll passively get it from gear lol.

With out touching reforging yet I saw about a 1-2k spike in dps... it's that new lavaburst cool down and EARTHSHOCK fun time. When I can get back on this weekend mastery here I come!

Ya I had the same results as Nejcha my shamans are doing ridiculous dps.
They're all 6k+GS my pally tank was like 5300-5400 last time I checked wonder if he'll have aggro issues.

Mastery is where its at. Pre patch i was hitting a lot of lightning overload, post patch, its much less, and mastery increases the % proc chance. Maxing out mastery will be a huge dps booster.

are you guys suggesting mastery for pvp aswell? like change all the wrathful set pieces to master from crit?

Is there a cap on Mastery? Guess it won't be possible to hit it even if there is one.

well for ele shamans, mastery increases your % chance for a proc, so I'd assume that anything over 100% would be a waste of stats, so I'd call that a "cap" of sorts.

Hell yeah ... from my pvp gear (4x 251 set piece + 270 hands) and what I can get from honor, no arena gear.

before ...
40% crit
20% mastery

after ...
35% crit
32% mastery

Basically trading in 5% crit for a 12% increased total chance that a spell will go off a 2nd time for 75% damage within the same gcd ... seems like a no brainer to me in pvp where we have no haste.
