Here is the post: With a few other bug problems

0. Patch 4.0.1 known issues *updated 8pm 10/12* 10/11/2010 06:07:38 PM PDT

All of the following are known issues that we are hope to have corrected in a future patch:

Starting more than 1 wow.exe simultaneously will cause the applications to deadlock
- If you are multi-boxing, do not use a batch file or other method to launch multiple game clients at once
Resizing the game client when run in a window can cause bodies of water to not display
Clicking on a “Level notification” in the chat window will cause a LUA error
Using voice chat, recording a voice sample then immediately changing the Microphone setting can cause a crash
Graphical issues with the Devilsaur in the Hunter’s Pet tab
Hunter pet abilities can be inadvertently removed from the spell bar when relogging into the game or zoning
- The spells are still in the spellbook, you may need to replace them.

1. Re: Patch 4.0.1 known issues 10/12/2010 07:53:56 PM PDT

Additional known issues:

Error 132 when attempting to start the game using WoW.exe
Data Execution Prevention (DEP) error when logging in to the game
No standalone patch allowing players with restricted internet connections to bypass the use of the Blizzard Downloader
Computers with limited hard disk space cannot patch
- work around: uninstall your current game and download the latest game client here: https://us.battle.net/account/management/download/index.xml (https://us.battle.net/account/management/download/index.xml)

When using ISBoxer, isn't there an option to launch a client every n seconds can't check now)?
Maybe I'm wrong but if this is the case, there's no problem, right?

The blue edited his posts; I'm sure the initial post went something like:

Starting more than 1 wow.exe simultaneously will cause the applications to deadlock
- If you are cheating multi-boxer, do not use a batch file or any of your other dirty cheating methods to launch multiple game clients at once.

So is this what's causing me to get .5 fps when I launch 5 toons with isboxer?

what i read from this, is that Blizzard does not mind multiboxers at all, found a bug that could annoy boxers, and have flagged it to be fixed.

All good news to me. bugs happen.

Um, hopefully not? Try playing with your video settings seeing as the entire layout of the video options has changed and they have upgraded some spell detail and the water. I mean, I guess you could be having the 'deadlock' problem but, I dunno, I'm going to go take a shower.

This mentions launching from wow.exe, what if you turn launcher off, but use the launcher to launch wow.exe?

Really wanting to enjoy the new Lava Burst macro before it gets nerfed.

Lol, yeah, it was the video settings. Thanks, it probably would have taken me a while to figure that out because I don't remember hearing that they were changing anything :P

It still seems slower now with the settings turned all the way down, than it did with medium settings before (on my 4 slaves).

I was getting 10fps and then I worked out all my config.wtf files had let WoW atuodetect new settings. So each client put everything on Ultra with 16xAA and max multi-sampling.

Needles to say putting my slaves on Medium Settings and making everything use Trilinear except hte main gave me MUCH better FPS.

Still need to drop some stuffon the main though, not being able to turn shadows off at all is annoying.

Water seems to make the largest hit on performance now, even shadows doesn't seem to be too bad.

yeah even i run with (low/fair) shadows on my 5 yo crappy machine.
Shadows have been greatly improved in terms on perf i think

I use ISBoxer and it's working flawless after I updated it,

What's weird is I actually got a big performance boost from this patch.

Only thing I've noticed which really isn't an error. There's a blue loading bar at the top of my screen for a second on my slaves. Never saw that before.

But yeah that's great they aren't bringing down the axe on multiboxing. Things were a bit up in the air with some of the comments made by blues in recent past.

One thing I've noticed (and might have something to do with the serious issue Im having) is that lock files now get added to the Data folder while the launcher or main executable is running.

That would explain not normally being able to run more than one WoW from the same folder, or in my case any WoW symlinked to that folder as only one WoW could get full access to the files at once.

I'm getting "File cannot be Read' type errors from the symlinked WoWs on art.MPQ, but the non-symlinked folder is working fine, so it can't be down to a corrupt install.

Also one of the blues on forums mentioned having to run the launcher to update the registry, from the same folder that the WoW you're running is installed to. It's never had to do that before, and i guess it could just be overwriting those settings if you run it from several installs.

They have a opnion for MaxFPS forground and MaxFPS background right in the video settings now. What more evidence could there be they plan to have multiboxers around for a long time?

Its been a big change from when I was probably the most prolific poster of any multiboxer, of course there was not a lot of multiboxers back then in 2003 just me and a few other guys:

so is thier any sort of fix for this? when i load up 5 its hit or miss but 1-3 accounts will lock up. have to shut them down and reload and usally 1-2 make it and what ever is frozen again shut down and repeat till all 5 work. using ISboxer with all the graphics correct.

thanks

have a couple addons on account one but the slaves are only isboxer and jamba

I seem to be having issues as well still. I only run 3 clients and my 2nd and 3rd client crash after 1-3 minutes of playing but never my #1. I am using about 5 addons now, as opposed to the dozen i used to use and find if i disable everything on the slaves except for jamba and isboxer i am stable. So, i'm tempted to believe that an addon is causing problems. Was also curious if system resources were a concern but i am using no more than I used to (hitting no more than 60% on cpu/ram usage). Did anyone else find that disabling addons helped? i'm using omen, recount, bagnon, postal, isboxer, vuhdo, and jamba at the moment. all my vid settings have been turned down a bit, drivers updated etc.

cheers for any info :)

For both of the above posters. Log in just one account at a time. Go into your video settings and set everything to as low as possible on each account. Then try logging them in as your team. You can always raise the settings later by small amounts until you get your desired preference. This worked for me.

Thanks very much for the tip! I've steadily increased the settings for the last hour and so far so good. hopefully i'll get them back to my previous settings of high on the slaves and ultra on the main.

thanks again!

They said simultaneously, or 5 at once. Like shoving 5 lollypops into your mouth at once.
If you boot up 1 window at a time and allow it to get to the login screen before you open the next one (open 1 lollypop, once its in your mouth, grab the next one), it should work fine.
ISboxer and Keyclone both do this already.

The Max Background FPS does not work so well for me. Leatrix Graphix addon on was better. But the author took it out because Blizz has it now.

A. Within your character sets there is an option to: "Launch each Character [x.x] seconds after another is ready
