Well. I am guessing that you are doing your testing via opening a single original unaltered copy and update of re game. If that is the case can you say where in the loading of the game your game client crashes and if wow reports the error or if windows reports the error. I assume you are rolling with w7

well it was crashing after I clicked login but that's long gone I deleted WoW and freshly installed it (I backed up my WTF and addons folder)
when I go to open the launcher I get "Launcher requires write permission to the world of warcraft registry key to successfully locate and run the game. please enable write acess to the registry key using an administrator account"
I've selected run as admin, I've selected every possible user under security and gave it full permissions, I've moved it around on my computer and the only place it'll work is if I copy wow.exe and launcher.exe to the desktop it'll open from there but no where else
I go to patch from 3 to 3.2 and I get " Patch can't be applied because it is missing data for: "koKR". If this problem persists, you may be able to solve it by uninstalling and then reinstalling the game. If you are unable to correct this problem, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (SetLanguage)"
edit: and yes I'm on windows 7 64bit

if you are on 64 bit, there are some permissions issues that can come up even if you are running as admin. if you haven't already done so, disable uac entirely. clear your registary keys in regedit under hk_current user -> software -> blizard entertainment and hklocal_machine -> software -> "blizard entertainment" after you reuninstall. this should clear out any clue your computer has that wow were ever on it and the disabeling uac will correct the permissions issue.
gl and cheers

I am interested in your patching from 3 to 3.2 you have the patches locally cached on a file server or alternative computer or are you redownloading from the internet using the launcher?

both
after my saved patch failed with that error I used the blizzard downloader to re-download patch 3.2 and still throws that error

also I'm not too worried about the launcher because I found out it's updating straight to the new cata launcher and I think that might be the problem with all the old files in place because I've never seen the launcher error before
I'm mostly worried about just patching atm

I run Windows Vista 64 bit and didn't experience any problems. Did you disable your anti-virus software? Sometimes that can cause problems such as yours.

well, belive it or not, you may just be better off reinstalling windows itself and the fresh blizard download installer. you can drivexml your harddrive if you want to have a backup or if you don't have a spare hard drive to swap in. I haven't ever seen that issue on my systems so if you have done the reg key cleans, the uac disabeling, and you are updateing straight from the web, then its time to throw windows in as the culprit.
gl though

Actually I think I'm getting somewhere now it's applying a patch
I did what you mentioned in a earlier post and I uninstalled wow again and went in and deleted every registry key that had to do with battle.net and blizzard
then I reinstalled directly to c:\ instead of c:\users\public\games
and it's applying a patch now
fingers crossed that this will work and I'll be able to play today

I'm such a dumbass well get ready to judge away
the error was being caused by the game loading my custom blp skins (Yes nude patch)
I removed the MPQ and the game works

All good then.
And maybe you'll find a way to have your custom skins, too.
