just made a list of things I noted/tested on ptr, wanted to see if I had missed anything impt....
- spellpower gone as a stat (including gems) spellpower now comes from int... all sp gems are now int gems..20 int gems are changed to red gems
- + hit buffs gone (ie no shadow priest or drood hit raid buffs) so you need all the hit yourself)
- spirit now also = hit 1:1 ratio along with mana regen
- mana per 5 is gone...mana per 5 itmes are now spirit items
- mastery is a new stat (that I dont understand well enough yet) -- for ele shammies mastery allows and increases the proc rate of the 3rd class ability (why 3rd? I dont know yet) which is Overload procs (allows man free aggro free automatic recast of lightning bolt and lava blast for 75% damage and non crit).. I stacked mastery as much as I could( had 542 mastery) and it felt like a machine gun casting LB at times.
- The priority of stats seems to be spellpower/int> haste = mastery>crit for ele shammies from what Ive seen on test (assuming youre hit capped otherwise hit is top priority)
-- what ended up being the best bet for a couple of us testing on ptr seemed to be reforging stuff dropping crit for hit til capped then reforge the rest dropping crit for mastery (unless the item allowed you to drop crit for haste which only occurs on items that dont have haste already on them ie muradins spyglass).
- I personally reforged the t10 legs and muradins spyglass to hit and the rest to mastery for my best result but that needs alot more testing)
- bizuris relic lost its haste effect and was made a flat stat relic with a gem slot -- not sure if it's bis atm
- ele shammies might want to look for that mp5 belt in ah ...usually go for 3 to 5 k might be higher now that a lot of shammies will want it since itll go to spi = hit and has higher haste than despair
-- also a lot of ele shammies are wearing cloth pieces (gloves wrists etc) youll need to replace them with chain since using your class ar gives you 5% inc to your man stat which is int which = spellpower for us now and is a big deal.... if youre using cloth gloves, you might want to look at the offset chain gloves you buy with frost badges atm

-- watch for LvB to refresh as you cast LB since LB can randomly reset the timer on LvB
- ele shammies dont use water shield anymore.. they use lightning shield-- every LB returns 600ish mana meaning you have a hard time losing mana if youre using LB
- also with the LB resetting the timer on LvB, flame shock never drops off
... I stood going all out damage rotation for 30 mins and was still sitting at 95% mana at the end..never had to redo flame shock either ....pulled 14k dps over that period self buffed only
-- edit-- also has anyone noticed any addons made to keep track of lightning shield stacks? and/or LvB refreshes?

I think all of this has been said before and there are tons of other threads on these topics, just an FYI.

This whole sentence is confusing beyond belief.
Mastery stat for elemental shaman is basically the old Lightning Overload talent with Lava Burst added into the possibilities. When you're talking "class abilities" I'm assuming you refer to the abilities you get for choose your spec, not class. It's 3rd because there are 2 other passive effects you get (Shamanism which was an old talent combined with reduced cast time on offensive spells talent & Elemental Fury which is the 100% crit bonus talent)?
Lightning Overload can crit and can effect Chain Lightning as well, which wasn't mentioned.

The spirit you get from the mp5 should make up for it. You talk like we lost a TON of hit - it's 3% or 78 hit rating. You should have made up that 78 hit rating from spirit.

What world are you living in where flame shock was refreshed? Unless they've drastically changed a glyph in the past 24 hours or I missed something big, then this is flat our wrong. Mana regen at 80 isn't an issue, period.
Edit: You're probably using full t10 which will extend FS by 2 ticks but this would hardly keep it 100% uptime.
However, your claim of 14k dps over a 30 minute period? Shenanigans. As a burst dps, believable with a lava burst + overload + 9 stack fulmination. Over the long haul stretch of 30 minutes with your proposed rotation... not likely. Even haste capped with a 1 second GCD (around 1500 haste btw - with wrath of air down), constant lava burst procs and resets. At a realistic 1.2 second cast time for LvB and assuming this luck, you'd have to hit ~17.5k lava bursts - mathematically. Assuming this setup, you wouldn't get fulmination charges or mana regen. Add in the fact you'd have to eat at least a GCD every minutes to redrop a searing totem for single target dps to keep up your Totemic Wrath
So, not believable.
edit-- also has anyone noticed any addons made to keep track of lightning shield stacks? and/or LvB refreshes?Built in UI works just fine for me. New grid style party frames show your LS charges on your frame and the built in UI shows the <Lava Surge> proc for Lava Bursts.

Chain Lightning a priority in the current elemental shaman rotation? For me casting CL whenever it's up is a/ a dps loss and b/ a mana sink. The only times I cast CL is when the time it takes for lava burst to come off cooldown is lower than casting a lightning bolt, preferably in clearcasting state, and that's only to factor in more spell., It's better than clipping flame shock, postponing LvB cast or waiting. That is obviously single target, multiple target cl is a no brainer. At low haste/spell power levels I can see CL being a priority and dps gain, but at high sp / haste, it is '(for me) clearly a dps loss single target (lightning bolt scales much better with spellpower than chain lightning due to it's longer cast time, i.e. more spellpower is converted into damage for lightning bolt than for chain lightning).
What world are you living in where flame shock was refreshed? Unless they've drastically changed a glyph in the past 24 hours or I missed something big, then this is flat our wrong. Mana regen at 80 isn't an issue, period.
Probably still with T10 4x bonus on I guess.

Built in UI works just fine for me. New grid style party frames show your LS charges on your frame and the built in UI shows the <Lava Surge> proc for Lava Bursts.
Are you saying that the built in UI shows LS charges for party members?

Yes. It does. Did you want me to pull some testing data so you can incorporate something into Jamba? :)
Chain Lightning a priority in the current elemental shaman rotation?
It's always been a dps increase as a filler after LvB when clearcasting is up for a long time. Only when your haste is over 1250 is it a noticeable dps loss. Spellpower coefficients are a factor, but because of the huge difference in cast time, you need significant haste to overcome the .5 second difference. (91% spellpower gain on LB vs ~70% on CL... base is 57 but i can never remember how shamanism factors in since it's combined into the full 3 hit coefficient). Damage, with no haste equals out at 2100 spellpower, but when calculating the dps from each spell it's the haste that makes the huge difference.
Cataclysm mechanics don't change this until the evolution of unleash elements at 81 when we'll fill the holes in our 8 second, max, lvb cooldown with UE and ES on single targets. Haste will have the same mechanics for Lava Surge as well, so it's really haste that caps us in the complete removal of CL from the rotation.
Probably still with T10 4x bonus on I guess.

Sweet! I was going to write something to keep track of my Paladins Holy Power; but if the default UI can show me that for party members, thats good enough for me.

All my accounts are on the same b.net account. I'm in the beta, but can only play one character. I've done a bit of fixing Jamba but there is a lot I cannot do and I've not spent any time in the beta in a party at all. I'd rather spend my playing time getting all my toons to 80... And I'm sure 4.01 will be along soon.

Oh, Holy Power and Eclipe mechanics do not translate across clients in the blizzard UI as they aren't buffs and are tracked via the similiar mechanic as DK runes. I don't think you can get it across client.
LB charges are a buff so it does translate across with the proper settings.

Sweet as, thanks for the clarification. Nice to see the default UI show others de/buffs. Seems like I might have to write something after all (will see how it goes in game first).
