I have been getting really high ping the last 3 months. At first I though its my router because its over 3years old.

But the lag always seem to be around the same time every day. Mostly its mid-morning to mid-d afternoon, connection is good from 5-11pm. The ping is 1-2k every night this week. Sometimes at peak hours 8-10pm. I have read articles sometimes ago that some ISPs (mine is Verizon NYC) limit client's speed for torrents or pirating.

This weekend was the second non-consecutive weekend that i could not even load a web page, much last box WoW.

Time for a new router?

Speed does not equate to latency. When they throttle you for excessive bandwidth use, it just limits your transfer rate, not how long it takes a packet to get to the server and back.

I'd suspect your ISP has a sucky network in your area that gets overloaded during prime time. Your router should not be doing that unless you have an open WiFi setup and someone else is using yours during those hours.

wow sends almost nothing compared to a torrent movie. Its like, I dont know, 1/1000th or way less then even that. You will never hit the throttle trigger playing wow.

Sounds like too much traffic on the local node (i.e. not your issue, too many people are on at the same time). Call your ISP and complain.
