View Full Version : Sucks to be a "fresh" 80 ;)

I knew it was coming, but to go from God status when at the upper 2 levels of sub-80 brackets (78-79, 68-69, etc.) while leveling to a fresh 80 this late in an expac/season is painful.

Its somewhat self inflicted too as I can't summon the internal fortitude to even grind for basic gear, so my 3 fresh shammies are using their heirloom weapon still. ;)

That said, I'm still pretty dangerous if I can stay in the background. Its flat out ugly when I'm the focus of 2+ enemies.

All in good fun. :)

I agree...my DK/Rets hit 80 last week and I went from God to Gimp rather quickly ;)

I craft the entire iLvL 187 pvp suit for my new lvl 80 toons. It's basically some saronite bars + an eternal per toon. It puts me at 650 resilience, only from crafted gear and the berserker darkmoon card. When solo that might obviously a bit underpowered, but as a boxer ...

I made an arena team, I'm not a new 80, but have 0 PvP gear.....

My team:

"Just get it over with"

I drop pretty quick, lol. Too fast to even get mad about. When do I get points anyway?

Zenga, I used all my honor while leveling to buy up what I could. I have four pieces of furious, the 264 trinket and the wrathful wrist. So, my resil on my 3 leveling toons with all the honor is 706. Still get pwned pretty hard.

Seems like everyone I see in a BG is 2k gs of pvp gear ahead of me. My shammies are like 20k hp and the shamans I've seen (for comparison) are 30k with some higher.

Its all good, just pretty pathetic. ;)

I'm almost 80 with my druid team. I'm planning to just skip the 80 bg and hit cata up. At that point there will be a chance. Stepping into 80 bg with crap gear would suck. Farm badges for pvp will be my firt task. And I'll just start that off when cata rolls through..

Don't over read the suckiness.

My guys are now about a GS of 4300 with about 700 resil. My main shaman is a 5200 GS but all in PvE stuff.

I won three in a row last night and again, if able to stay in the back (like a larger BG) you can really help out. Also finding I'm surviving a little bit more with each piece of PvP gear I pick up. Farming honor is really fast and this is coming from the Horde side where I won the majority when sub 80 but now lose the majority as an actual 80.
