OS question...

So I got my first PC my new main and the other 3 should be here today. They where all bare-bone systems so no OS came on them. I tried to install my XP I had with old system but I cant us it.
What have you other multi-boxers done about this I heard something about free OS but done know of anything other then windows and lynux or what ever it is will it run WoW and stuff?
Can someone tell me the dif between a full package xp, oem xp, and License? B/C at 100$ a pop to get the new license for each rig is going to be killer. Thanks

You could buy an OEM copy or a license, D/L a torrent or go Linux. All are viable methods to get you operational - but some have baggage.

If you have access to other copies of the XP install disk, you might try those. I used the OEM license keys from some computers which were upgraded to Vista, but I had to try a few different install CDs to get them to work.

I still had call MS to activate the OS on my new computers, but the guy on the phone didn't ask any questions, he just did it.
