My clones use /assist <main> /focus to get targets to blast to tiny pieces,
but when my main gets polymorphed, the macro doesnt work anymore.. any suggestions on how to fix it? any kind of parameter to add for it to work? or any other suggestions, Thanks!

When polymorphed I think you lose your target. If, while your polymorphed, you re-select a target does it work?

Suggestion: Don't get polymorphed.
People have various ways of dealing wih this. I have a priest and a mage to dispel/decurse whenever my main is afflicted by some loss of control effect. Limited to PvE and loss of control effects that can actually be removed.
Others focus their main and then use /target focustarget as an assist key. So to swicth mains you just need to change the focus target for everyone to your new/temporary main and your assist key will work seemlessly.
EDIT: Some focus their mains and don't use assist keys at all, instead macroing every ability with a [target=focustarget].

try using
/target CHARNAME
/target TargetTarget
/cast XYZ

I use what I call "sticky targetting".
example Chain Lighting
-----------------------------
/assist [noexists] focus
/assist [dead] focus
/assist [noharm] focus
/cast Chain Lightning
-------------------------------
As long as my clone is not targetting something it can attack it will assist focus. However if it can attack something it does not assist. So if I lose my target or change targets the clones will still attack its current target till it dies.
note: it could probably be changed to
/assist [noexists][dead][noharm] focus
but I haven't tested that.
been having that problem in zf for a while now, getting froggéd, and then toons being unable to cast due to /castsequence [target=focustarget] isnt working anymore. And yes I know grounding totem should take care of this, but i dont want to use grounding for this one, just want an answer to losing the targetting and not being able to pewpew.
so you guys say
/assist focus
/cast pewpew
that should be the answer?
(and /assist [noexists][dead][noharm] focus, should work I think)

yea same here getting frogged in ZF, but my problem is more that i dont have /focus set on my main char, its just /assist <main> and that mob target gets /focus.. so they just keep nuking the same target even though switch with main.
Guess I'll have to change the macro setup then though

I just learned to dispel in ZF lol
But I really like the only assist if my current target does not exist, is dead or a friendly. It means my tank can switch targets a lot easier between multiple casters where I have trouble keeping aggro.
Thanks!

how about the following
/target [nomodifier] char1 [modifier:shift] char2 [modifier:ctrl] char3 [modifer:alt] char4
/focus target
this way you can easily shift focus to any of your characters. I don't have a char5 on there cos if he is the last one left then there is no one to assist him! ;)
I have separate keys for
/assist focus and don't include it in my attack macros
true, had that macro once myself, (the /assist focus on seperate key) can even put it on my pet attack bind for easy usage (since the toons are kind of like pets). But annoying to press more then 1 button for something thats doable in 1. You will forget to switch now and then when doing larger packs and its extra, extra can be very bad :P

not putting any form of /assist or /focus blah blah in your pewpew macros fixes this, for pewpew keep targetting seperate from pewpewing so they only acquire a target once. Had an issue with this when I first started (usually main would die and id wipe due to 'wtf?' moments) until I realized I had no need to re-assist my focus on each spellcast when i could just hit one key each time I changed targets to do this form me. Now with CC it will be different but I dont have any in this group :)
*edit* and to make sure im targetting all the right things I have that button on my main bound to a raid icon. so when I hit 'T' on my keyboard (used T so I can change targets quickly in PvP, I also have the period on numpand bound to this as well since instances I rarely use my mouse) my main marks the target with a skull and the alts assist me for it and the moment I see the icon on the party-target windows in pitbull its time for /cast pewpew

I had a think about this and it might be a good idea to put a [nocombat] option in as well. In other words, if I am out of combat always assist, only "sticky" target when in combat.

Do not base your targetting macros on /assist.

Do what i do... get keyclone if for nothing else but to broadcast those things bound to mouse buttons. I have assist and such on my mouse so i dont even need to worry about pressing keys for changing focus.
So, just dropping 4 searing totems and spamming chain heal until my pally un-frogs isn't a good strategy? :)
