1) looking for a buff timer/alert that will watch the whole team, I'm at work so can't search around
2) Is there any mod that will notify you when am item drops that starts a quest so you can know to have all toons loot the mob. i only loot with my leader and my melee will loot sometimes with IWT but I've had to go back several times and get quest starter items that i did'nt pick up with all five toons which is kind of annoying.

I use Smartbuff. It is tied to my follow macro, so every time I tell my slaves to folllow me, it makes my team refresh any dead or dying buffs.
TomQuest2 has an interface element that alerts you through chat and in the onscreen questlist when you have looted an item that starts a quest.

Thank you Khat. I've been wondering myself about lam's second question and haven't been able to find anything. Nice tip with Smartbuff, never thought about tying it into my /follow button.

Thanks for the info tried last night and I think its what I'm looking for, Could you elaborate on how you tied that to your follow macro.

Just add the line /click Smartbuff_KeyButton to your follow macro. I'd suggest using a nomounted variable so it doesn't try to buff when you're 1000feet in the air.
Tank Macro
/jamba-team invite
/click [nomounted] SmartBuff_KeyButton
/jamba-follow strobeoff all
/run UIErrorsFrame:Hide();
Shaman macro
/click [nomounted] SmartBuff_KeyButton
/cast [nomounted, nocombat] Totemic Recall
/focus Kina
/follow focus
/script SetView (4); SetView (4)
Ret Paladin
/focus Kina
/follow focus
/click [nomounted] SmartBuff_KeyButton
/script SetView(4);SetView(4)
/cast [nomounted, nocombat]!Find Herbs
