Corwin seems to be dropping the same trinkets as last year, dont know about the mounts or what not.
Also drops 2 frost emblems for the first run everyday, not sure if he did that last year, as I was to low to try him out hehe.

The dungeon finder puts you right in front of him :)

Yes, but there are two mounts, actually : a ram and a kodo. Just heard of someone who got the two in the same bag

To summarize:

You can kill Corin as many times as you want, just zone out and click your LFD again and voila, you're in.
He has about 305K hp, and drops in 15-20 seconds tops.
There is no quest to engage him, you just go and talk to him. You can do this from the same toon over and over, but he only drops the trinkets.

One per day however he'll drop an extra chest (a keg, automatically looted) that contains 2 frosts, and a chance to either mounts, the tankard of terror and the remote.

So yeah, you can only farm the mounts once a day, down from 5 last year. But you can farm your iLvL 200 trinkets very easily.

Some of the brewfest quest are great for boxers,(pink eleks and ram race count for group) and others are a pain (worpeltinger needs to be done 5 times and the barking ones around Org i haven't been able to box correctly and ended up doing on each toon separately)

overall, i think to get all the achievements you'll need 552 tickets (202 if only going for meta achievement)
50 hat (not needed for meta)
100 boots (not needed for meta)
200 robe (not needed for meta)
200 club card
2 hops for mount transform

Is that to get brewfest meta achieve? Also I was doing this stuff this morning and it seemed there are only two dailys? The race one and the drink throwing game.

Man, how lame they didn't up the iLevel on the trinkets.
And yet, if they made them higher, people would complain about good gear being obtainable too easily. No matter what they do they can't win...

If you don't have your mounts or you haven't done holiday achive (and want to) then Brewfest 2010 is for you. Otherwise don't waste your time ilvl200 at this point in the xpac is so pointless.

i killed the boss about 8 times to make sure my toons all had some Off spec trinkets.
Took me all of 10 minutes :-)

Loot bag/keg is a terrible idea for multi boxers, you can't trade the items in bag even if you already got it.

I haven't had any redundant drops in brewfest yet (2 rams so far), but for the winter lord event, one of my guy got 3 pets and can't give it to the other toons :(

They should mark the items in the bag same as normal drop so you can trade to other group members.

I'm sure they did this to prevent people from wheedling someone out of their goodies by saying, "Okay, now that you go that, we all roll and you give it to the winner."

This finished off the Long Strange Trip for me, I'm pretty happy it was easy. Frost Lord gave me fits. Badges are nice, but loot is extra. Too bad it can't be DE'd.

Good heavens, he goes down fast. Killed him twice last night for achievements and neither time did he ever last long enough to get off a disarm/whirlwind thingy. Got one ram, too. :D Almost wish you could farm the mount repeatedly but if they did that, it would probably be about as rare as the Baron's Deathcharger. :/

How is it possible to get that many tickets? After I did all of the quests in front of IF, I have less than 200 tickets. I only see one daily quest, and that gives something like 15 tickets. Are there quests elsewhere?

One thing i noticed is that even though you can't join Direbrew boss with lowbie toons, you can still use warlock to summon them to instance to collect loots, including frost emblems and other epics. :)

I queued up with my lvl 80 team, entered instance, summoning stone up, left the instance and party with 3 of my lvl 80s, invited 3x lvl 61 toons, summoned them to instance and finally i did the same with my wlock, summoned the last one (you can still use summoning stone even if warlock leaves party), soloed boss with my tank, toons got their Emblem of Frost, no epic mount though. :P Also, you can farm trinkets as many times as you need. It was too time-consuming for my taste, all that logging in and out and summoning... but it works!

Gotta be careful with doing it this way tho. It bugged up on me and my group that was farming him a few times. It would log us all out and when we logged back in, we'd be in the last place we were before entering the instance with the que. Kept teleporting me back to Dalaran and reset a couple of my hotkeys and twice my gear back to my pvp set.

The ram race is not a daily quest. Once you've done the regular quest, you can talk to the NPC to start the daily race every 18 hours. You'll be awarded 2 tickets per loop.

Darkirons attack the place every thirty minutes. If they're defeated you'll see a blue ! on the ground, granting 10 tickets.

I don't have a warlock at 80 but I just used another method to get my team Im leveling in, and long term it will probably be easier than a warlock... provided you've done it a few times already. If you start the instance up with an 80 team and then swap in your subs, an 80 can hearth out and use Direbrews Remote to bring the others in. Once you've done it a couple of times the subs will have their own remotes so can get in without help - just start the instance off with an 80 team, and keep your tank in there.

You can buy the outfits then sell them back within 2 hours. Then spend your tokens on the long term items.

I'm kinda surprised more people don't know this, but the remote has a very cool hidden feature and IMO, one of the cooler items in the game. Walk into the bar and talk to the guy next to the band, and you can make them play anytime.

If you never caught the band playing north of Shattrath during the scourge invasion, you can watch the band here anytime with this item. Make sure to have you music on. Also, if you /cheer the band members, you'll get a 5 minute 10% all stats buff.

You can do this without a warlock.

After you invite your lowbies to the group you can simply use the Teleport to dungeon button on your minimap. I've picked up two mounts for ~64 lvl alts in this way so far. Figures they get all the luck while my mains are still without mounts after last year.

If you are having issues with the daily where you ride the ram through ORg/IF, I found out that only one toon needs to be mounted on the ram for everyone to get the quest completed. Note they all must accept the quest for this to work.

You dont even have to make it back to the brewfest area. once you complete the quest you can get on your own mount and run back to turn it in.

OK, find a good guide for this.... they are well done. Look on wowwiki.com for example.

In a nutshell:

2 dailes

* 10 tokens from the cog that appears after repelling the darkiron attack (top and bottom of each hour)

* 15 tokens from barking for one of the brewers in your cap city. Must do the first 2 quests from teh ram racing guy to open this one.

Then, the other source of ''daily'' tokens is from ram racing -- which is started as a conversation item with the ram racing guy and refreshes approximately every 18 hours. If you get good at ram racing you can get 30 tokens per day easily, up to 40ish if you master it. Watch youtube videos. Read wowiki for the paths (hint: the path). Etc.

Also note that they removed most of the achievements form the meta.... there are only 6 in there, and you don't need to do the clothing one for the meta.

You can obtain over 800 tokens if you are manic....

If you can't resell he clothing now (chnge for this year), then there is not really a reason to save tokens up... (last year you wanted to acrue 350, get the clothing, resell the clothing and buy your items and brew of the month membership)

Ok, back to running 118 toons through all of this. :)

I'm glad that all of you are having it so easy with Coren. This is my first time 4-boxing a lvl 80 boss and he's killing me. After the first wipe, I read up on him. Next time round, I tried to focus on his elite adds so my tank wouldn't get kegged and they seemed to keep re-spawning. I think I killed each one 2-3 times before we all wiped again. Anyone else seen this? I have tried to just burn Coren down, but I can't seem to do so without my tank getting kegged and then wiping. Any suggestions? And no, I can't run 5. 4 is max possible with the hardware I'm using. As for gear, I've got the best crafted stuff avail for each toon.

yeah we tend to forget that he is easy because we got gear that surpas him by a mile.

If its only the tank that get kegged you can either make a macro to use the keg or have backpack open and destroy it when it lands. the first one dont get you kegged. its the 2nd that does the harm. Dont waste time on any adds. Focus on him and watch out for the kegs. Just AoE with tank to keep focus from your little helpers. And I spread mine out a bit so only one gets hit when a tunnel machine drills through the floor

And if your tank is not yet geared good enough move out when he does the whirlwind.

Hope this help

what type of tank you have, if paly can you try a 'diving shield/cancel shield/taunt move' perhaps?
the adds seem to keep respawning right away (not sure it was like that in the past) so i would focus fire on Coren.

As for gear, I've got the best crafted stuff avail for each toon.

What kind of dps are you pulling? From the sound of it, you should have no problem just burst him down.

I have no problem 3 man him (carrying 2 lvl40s through), I'm only heroic/badge geared (ie 219/232), typically downing him around 25sec (15-18sec with 5 lvl80s, best record is 11sec with bloodlust).

Daeri
09-26-2010, 08:08 AM
Why not letting a 5th player join your group, the additional dps is going to come in very handy, is it not ? I reckon that using the dungeon finder which will fill all 5 slots is the only way to get the keg anyway. If you're tank is really undergeared but has a dps spec you could even let someone else do the tanking :p

One trick for not getting keg'd during the coren fight is to have your pack be full. Unfortunately, this will make the daily loot keg get 'found in the ether' and mailed to you instead of it being able to go into your pack.

People were getting banned for that, since it was a glitch and not intended. Some people were doing it in RAF for insane XP. Since you can farm him you could 44-60 in an hour. (Or something equivalanet).

I read about it the day someone posted on a forum about it and decided I'm staying well clear since Blizzard clearly know the tricks and it would be easy to discover which toons were getting loot they shouldn't.

A few days later someone posted he got all his RAF toons banned.

OK, day of reckoning.

One team has earned 850+ tokens to buy every item, starting from scratch. (Proof of concept.)

Brewmasters from last year will also get the rest of the items.

All alts are in the Brew of the Month club and will have the pink elekk pet and the keg.

Coren and the random number generator: One char got both mounts in one bag. Several chars got duplicate mounts.
Some chars have no mounts at all. Normal stuff.

What classes are you trying to 4-box him with? How much DPS are your DPS guys putting out?

I just ran it with my druid tank/3x sham/hunter off group, the highest of which is about 3200 gearscore (all blues or i200 crafted epics). They only keg one of my guys about once every 3rd or 4th run. Curious if you're still having problems.

:mad:OK. Buying tons of Pint-Sized Pink Pachyderms and Brewfest Ponykegs across my characters. I just finished explaining to my buddy about how the pet was not unique and can't be sold back and that the keg was unique... so the proper buying order for safety is keg first then pet.

Then I promptly went to buy a pet and mis-clicked on it, buying two of them. Waiting on a GM to see if I can be saved from my mistake.

The pet is not unique... You can drain all of your tokens with a couple mis-right clicks.

So, in trying to fix my blunder myself by trying to squeeze in some extra ram races, I'm reminded of how utterly screwed the Horde are when it comes to their ram race.

On the alliance side, the best time is around 38 or 39 seconds for a round trip. A perfect run can net 40 tokens, or perhaps a couple more. If you miss a checkpoint because of lag or whatever, even miss two of them... you can still come away with 30 tokens.

The horde ram race is straighter, but is also longer. My round trip time seems to be 44 to 45 seconds. That extra 5 seconds adds up in to way fewer trips and way fewer tokens yielded. Numbers like 15 to 20, with lag and unresponsive keg handlers (described next).

Additionally, the alliance side has prominent landmarks that allow you to gauge your turns. Turn around just inside the outer banner pole, and you are guaranteed to hand the keg off. Turn around at the guard before the keg thrower and you will receive a keg.

On the horde side, there are very subtle marks, nothing close to a pole or a person to turn around at. Also, I've run directly over the keg receiver and not tossed my keg. In fact one time I ran tight circles around the receiver and made it around him 3 times before the keg left.

For my problem at hand, I'm trying to get another 100 tokens. I'm at 25 after this last race (gained 16), and I have 2 sets of dailies remaining, which will get me to 75. Looks like I have one more race available, so if I can get 25 tokens, I'm safe even if the GM can't replace the item.... but so far I've gotten no wehre close to 25 toeksn on the horde ram race this week.
