It's like Blizzard times this shit perfectly with my billing, lol. They put in Operation Gnomer the day after I cancel my accounts. Was only cancelling until Brewfest but now they're making me renew early. Then exactly 1 month after Brewfest - Hallows End. After I've renewed for all that Cataclysm will be dropping, lol.

Ah well so much for saving a few bucks =) About to log in and do it with my team. Did you find it very multibox friendly?

I did, the only part that took a bit of time, was the first mission

You have to gather 5 Gnomes in IF, to take with you to Steel's Depot.

But outside of that it was easy as pie.

The actual Siege makes that little time investment more then worth it.

Oh and Welcome Back to WoW <snickers Evily.>

Spolilers!

I've done it, it was pretty cool, but I thought ...

That there would be some vehicle quests given all the training you had to do in the vehicles.
The actual event was a bit short, but fun.

I hope there is more to it that just that.

I hear that Jafula, IT would be nice to see it continue the closer to cata gets.

Ran into the Tog Glitch earlier, but that was about it.

You do get an achieve for this right?

Yep! You get an achievement! Other things you get-

You get an item that turns you into a gnome.

A statless Gnomer cape- there's suppose to be an overcloak thing coming in Cataclysm wear you can wear vanity items without unequiping your current cape. Right now though it just goes in your cape slot. This item is suppose to be the first of this type of item.

Wonder if you never complete that first quest if you could have a posse of gnomes following you around all the time, lol. Should of tested that I guess- that'd beat a cape and a gnome transformer.

The horde version is a lot better.

Also, it seems for both factions, you have to be lvl 75+ to do any part of the chain after getting the race pride item.
(so I have not done the part after that as alliance, but the part before it was worse than the horde ones imo)
Some epic voice acting and lore in the higher level parts though, horde get to see the introduction of the new troll druids. Do alliance get a similar class introduction for gnomes?

Found it heaps funny having 5x groups of 5 gnomes following me. Spent a min or two riding around in circles LOL. Since I'm leveling it was a nice way to get some easy exp.

I'm doing this right now on my alliance team, and will note the differences here as I do it. If you don't like spoilers, don't read.

1) A few good gnomes: The horde version you get credit on all toons, and there's a ton of trolls around. Alliance...not so much. There's a total of about 4 gnome citizens up at any one time, and of course everybody's doing this quest. EDIT: they do seem to respawn almost instantly, but there's also a chance it will fail (i.e., turn them into a rabbit or something). The trolls follow regardless.

2) Basic orders: Just all target the sargeant, and turn your keymaps off, and type the emote he says. No horde version of this one.

3) In and out: all hop in and instantly hit the eject button (all toons have to do it).

4) One step forward: all toons get in the other tank and hit 1, 2, and 3 three times each

5) Press Fire: all get in the next tank and hit 4 a few times

6) Vent Horizon (love the reference): all toons board the flyer and one throws the gadgets

7) Prepping the speech: all toons have to use the "gnomish playback device"

8) Words for delivery: just hop on the chopper, get your trinket thingy.

9) wait for the gnome king and recap gnomer, just the same as wrathgate, kill stuff. I'll leave it at that, there's some humor in it and I won't spoil it.

Anyone know the time length this will be available? I'm feeling lazy and not wanting to log on.....maybe the weekend though.

haven't seen an official end date yet. is it maybe in the in game raid calendar ? (haven't checked myself)

Q. Will these events be available forever?
A. Like other holiday events, Operation: Gnomeregan and Zalazane's Fall will only be available for a limited time, so it's best to complete the quest lines as soon as possible!

the whole event (all quests and events) is very short. you'll be done in 1hour, including time to get there.
[EDIT] at least for the horde part, haven't done the puntables yet.

Puntables was about an hour or less, as well.

I read a blue quote saying this was just the start of it.

Supposedly it's just the start. I sort of knew what to expect since I watched some spoiler vids long ago when it was on the PTR. Just did it for the items mainly and the achievement myself. Think we're all starved for new content and this is like giving a breadcrumb to a man who hasn't eaten in weeks.

Judging from Totalhalibut's video of the new gnome starting zone- it ties into this whole Operation Gnomer thing. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
