I just updated to ATI driver 10-8 (file 10-8_vista64_win7_64_dd.exe) today for HD4800 cards and it created unplayable mouse input lag. I ran Wow on its own without IS/Isboxer to confirm and then rolled back the driver to further comfirm it.

So, just a word of caution about the latest and greatest driver. Maybe it is just my config but I have a very common setup of Asus P6T and win7 64 .

Any similar results out there?

Did you try enabling or disabling hardware cursor?

10.8 is working fine with no issue here.

I've had a similar issue in the past with my eyefinity setup. (All performance would go to the first client, other four would go to crap) Easy fix is to use older drivers.

I had the same issue. Loaded up with HKN and had mouse strobing and lag all over the place. I just went back to 10.7.

What Khat said. Anytime I moved the mouse fps dropped to 0. This was only over the game window with only one (1!) instance running.

Almost acted like a direct input problem, so maybe it has to do with a directx conflict and not the video driver. Game runs fine on 10.7 so i'll stick with that till the next driver revision.

Yeah, I couldn't even log into the game itself because the cursor was too glitchy to accurately grab the account dropdown or even click into the authenticator field. I'm on the same card and OS.

I had the same problems with the cursor and 10-8 drivers. On the ATI forums it's also mentioned numerous times. It seems that it affects other mmorpgs as well and the solution they suggested (and worked for me) was to roll back to 10-7.

Hope this helps :)

WoW doesn't use DirectInput (not many MMOs do), but it's possible the new drivers broke something with the Direct3D hardware cursor support which video drivers are indeed responsible for. :)

Doh! I am the uneducated. I interchange those terms when I shouldn't. Thanks for the clarification.
Hey at least we didn't come here shouting that Innerspace was the problem. LoL
