Here's my other other hobby when I'm not in the basement:

A little background is that I started with this project nearly 10 years ago with a supercharged 2000 Camaro. I decided to go more power and ordered a new motor for it, then two days after I paid for the motor, someone pulled out in front of me and totalled it. After that, I picked up a 2001 and put the new motor in, and installed a turbo kit in my garage on jack stands. I've had so many little issues with this project, it's not even funny. The most recent being issues from oil draining properly and slipping past the turbo, the header cracking as the turbo is a front mount and hangs off the header just to name a few. With that, it's been giving me lots of issue with Colorado emmissions the past few go arounds.
As of yesterday, all those issues seem to be a thing in the past and the car has legal plates on it again. I still have one exhaust leak to fix on my down pipe as you can see from all the smoke in the last video, but overall, it's running great and I'm happy again. Now some time to enjoy it and get out of the basement for a while.

That is way too much power to have in such a fragile vehicle.

Fragile cause it's a convertible? You may be surprised as this is my 3rd Camaro now, and after upgrading and adding various things, it's a lot more solid than my old coupe every was. I've upgraded just about everything on it except for the tranny -- 12 bolt rear end, torque arm, suspension, lower control arms, etc. I've also installed subframe connectors and a full weld in 6pt roll bar setup:

Gotta love the LS motors.
That's why I decided to put one in my Typhoon.

I love my 2005 Corvette The engine is really quiet until you open it up. Then it sounds like a beast and throws you back into the seat.

Mine is a Precision PTQ-76. I'm guessing Nisch has the gt40?
Emissions here has changed around several times. It used to be the entire state, then they changed it to Denver metro on Jan 1, 2007, then just when it started to look promising, a lot of the counties are bring them back.
For Larimer County (Loveland):
Effective November 1, 2010, Larimer county residents will be required to obtain a certificate of emissions control for all vehicles within a designated area of Larimer County.
I'm guessing that 1837 is from the converter flash, but either way, that's got to be one hell of a fun ride. You ever see the video of a guy that posts by the name Parish? He's got a turbo chevy silverado running some insane numbers like you:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8NwWBIzllc
Here's one of the faster LS1 cars out here, he's in Colorado Springs. This video is a few years old and I know he's done some more work since then, but some very impressive numbers. I wish I could find his original video which first shows a modded '03 cobra racing the supra. Cobra was pushing somewhere close to 600, and the supra is around 700. Either way, they are both very fast cars:

Never owned a Camaro but had friends with 'em. They seem to enjoy the heck out of the things.
I'm driving a Dodge Charger R/T at the moment. Stock setup but hoping to change that soon. ;)

No way man, I've had my Camaro up on two wheels a lot! ;P
Seriously, though, I have an R1 which I love. I'm definitely a muscle car guy mostly, but a little story:
When I finally got my R1 broken in, I decided to take it out and open it up one night. I went to this semi-secluded road not too far from my house, waited for the light, rolled it off the line (cause I didn't know what to expect), and then nailed it.
What I didn't know is that the other side of the intersection, the road had a little bit of a washboard to it. I guess I'd never noticed because it was very subtle and I'd only ever been across it in a car. However, this little perturbation caused the front tire to lift off the ground a little. I wasn't bothered at all, as this is fairly normal in any hard accelerating vehicle, but the front wheel kept lifting until I finally had to back out of the the throttle to stop it. Keep in mind, I was laying ON the bike trying to apply more weight to the front, but there was just too much power to keep the wheel down.
It wasn't my first bike, but it was definitely the first one that would do that. I knew right then I was on to something good...hahaha.
Dude...
Yeah, I love that car.
I'd post some photos but the car is torn apart right now, and frankly, I'm pretty damn embarassed about it. :)
I'll put some up for you if you want once it's back together.

It's actually my car from high school (wasn't new, I'm not *that* old ;)). I met a lot of my friends because of that common interest, so obviously the car is pretty special to me - beyond just being implicitly cool and a little slice of Americana. I don't know what it is about cars, but we can get pretty attached for sure.
