I just upgraded to Win7. I also use keyclone and I'm starting a new 5man team after not 5boxing for a while.

So my problem is that win7 keeps telling me there's a change to one of my warcraft windows. The previously hidden task bar pops up with a flashing warcraft icon and I have to click on it and then the wow window that allegedly has some sort of change before the taskbar goes away again. There's no change to the window that I can tell. I haven't a clue what's going on with Win7.

It's terribly annoying.

On another note - is ISboxing much better than keyclone? It advertises that it swaps windows a lot faster - any truth to that?

depends.. if your current Keyclone PiP swap is instant (and by 'instant' i mean INSTANTANEOUS :-) then no, there will be no difference.

But in my experience, Keyclone's swap is never instant, you always wait a couple seconds.
The big plus of ISBoxer however, is the precise and simultaneous mouse repeater .

i would suggest having a read of this: Keyclone vs ISBoxer - my experience (http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=31275)

sorry, can't help with the w7 issue

You can simply turn off notifications. Go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Notification Area Icons or click the "Customize" on the Notification Flyout. Then just change the dropdown.

thanks for the reply. I bought a 3 month license of ISboxer and will try it out this weekend.

I'm having no luck with the notifications thingy on the task bar however. This is driving me nuts. I simply cannot play with windows randomly deciding to make a wow window on the taskbar flash yellow and unhide the task bar. I went to the notifications option on the task bar and unchecked show notifications for every program listed. warcraft was not on the list and this didn't help.

It sounds like something is causing the wow windows to change focus, which will pop the taskbar. I know Keyclone has an option where "Focus follows mouse", which could be doing it. I *think* I've seen some issues with Win7 and Keyclone with that, but I don't use Keyclone and I play with my taskbar visible, so I didn't pay too much attention.

If you had this it wouldn't matter if you had the taskbar visible or not normally. It would still drive you nuts. It's the flashing yellow that demands that you click on it that truly is frustrating. And there's no reason. I'm going to keep looking for way's to disable it but I found a freeware program that should help - it's called taskbar eliminator. I'll try playing tonight and hopefully will have a more enjoyable experience =). I'd really not have to use a 3rd party program to force it to hide because I like being able to mouse over the task bar to make it show up again but oh well.

Other than this terrible issue I'm having with the task bar, Win7 is working great. It's so much faster than Vista (at least for me) and in Wow it shows. I finally got frame rates of over 250 for the 1st time. In vista I think I maxed out at 40-50 or so. The whole thing just runs so much smoother it's pretty amazing. I wish I took the plunge earlier.

Do you play with the wow window completely maximized? Is that why the taskbar popup annoys you? Have you tried setting the maximizer vertical resolution to 20 pixels less than currently set? You can do that and leave the taskbar visible. Yeah, it's probably not what you're after but it'll be a whole crapload less annoying than having it popup on you all the time.

It's fixed. Well sort of. I turned off the option for "Focus follows mouse." I'm not getting anymore annoying yellow flashing warcraft icons. I still think there should be an option in Windows to turn those alerts on/off but it's not driving me insane any longer thank God.

Yup, I'm seeing this, with 'Focus follows mouse' on -- which I vastly prefer compared to having to click the window to in order to click in the game (two clicks if it is unfocused, one click of it is focused == bad juju).

Had no luck finding the part of the Control Panel metioned in the previous post in this thread.

I did turn off the taskbar's 'always on top' and that at least keeps it hidden wihle it is flashing it's yellow/orange 'OMG your wow window changed' notification. And the keyclone 'always on top' combined with 'focus follows mouse' will keep the taskbar buried during play. I'll try a session with it set like this to see how it goes. Happens on both Vista and Win7 for me, btw.
