If you could only have one team, knowing all that you know now, what would it be? Pally/Shaman? Druid/Shaman? 5 Druid? 5 Pally? 5 (anything else)? Mixed team? Melee team?

My main focus is PVE, with a little bit of BG's thrown in, and for the life of me I cannot choose a team. I'm just wondering what others would choose if they could only choose one.

Personally, if I had only 1 choice and it was PvE, I'd stay with my Paladin, 4x Shamen, but who the heck knows what's gonna happen with Cataclysm.

Dbl ele shaman/Dpriest(pvp/arenas) also for pve(specing priest shadow) My wife for Heals(6k++ gs) and some random tank thru lfg or guildie.

If i was to make a new caster team with everything I know now:

Pally tank (healing offspec for pvp).
Shadow / Disc Priest
Boomkin / resto druid
Ele / Resto Shaman
Mage or lock. Mage is handy for food + teleport. Lock is more fun + gives 13% buff.

This would cover plate, cloth, mail & leather and give me the opportunity to go with the healer that fits best the encounter.

If i was to build a melee team: pally tank + 3x dk + disc priest

As you can see if varies from person to person. Play want you want i.e. your favorite classes and not the fotm. Spend alot of playing around with the team and getting really good at that particular team.

I used to have alot of teams(6) and was never very good with any of them. Until I took the time to learn and become really good with 1 team only then could I add another.

I'd dare to forecast that when the average player (who does his daily random dungeon, who does his daily battleground, who does his weekly icc 10 pug that goes max 6/12) gets used to using all his cc abilities in dungeons, that they'll probably use them more in pvp as well. Meaning that 4 shamans have a nice hex toolbox, thunderstorm, interrupt, purge, earthbind totem, ... x4 to keep several mobs out of the action, not to mention the abilities of the pally to silence/stun.

did not say pvp does not have CC but most players I vs PVP players who do BGS just sit there and tunnel 1 shaman arena has cc already got that down pat

If I could only have one team, it'd be 5 shamans. MAYBE drop 1 for a paladin so all PvP/PvE is possible, but I really love 5s shamans in BGs.

I'd have to say 1 dk 4 pally, or druid 3 dk priest

and @zenga You dont need a lock for 13% buff, the druid as boomkin provides that :D

If I ever get my paladin/dk melee team to 80 and test out "end game" pve (in my case heroics and light raiding) I'll have a better idea of how to answer this.

So far though, I have enjoyed my multiclass caster team and am deciding whether or not a balance druid is better than a warlock.

Wish I had an all druid team, but I am not going to level another team. As it stands probably ele sham, lock, druid healer, prot pally, mage.

I'd probably go with 5x Druid.

It is not my optimal team for PvE play, but it is pretty decent. You have the option of tank, healer, melee dps and caster dps, which is decent.

For PvP, you can go 5x Cat or 5x Boomkin, or mix healers into it. You can even run 5x Resto, which could be interesting in AV and Wintergrasp.

At the moment, Druids are my favorite class. And I've recently finished leveling the team to 80th. I love instant flight form, and the ability to collect ground spawn items without landing or aggroing mobs which are standing 1 foot away.

i think i'd stay with my current team, as it offers me alot of alternatives (2 tanks, 4 healers, 5 classes to play, heaps of specs to play), or even a 3 melee group + mage+priest

- Paladin (currently tank, can dps or heal)
- Priest (currently heals, can dps)
- Druid (currently dps, can tank or heal)
- Shaman (currently dps, can heal)
- Mage

i just wish i could manage the eclipse procs better.

4x shaman (+ protadin)

I just love their PVP viability.

Got 4 rets + DK at 75 but still struggling to avoid getting kited.

By what? with CoI + death grip + stuns on round robin you should have NO problems.

I'm most excited about my priests for Cata, but if I could only have one team then it would be 5x druids. Although shamans will always be the masters of multiboxing, they're too common for my tastes :) Druids are catching up, but 15 treants cast from stealth always makes me smile.

Thinking about five really makes me want to transfer my damn priest to KJ. Hes all geared up with no where to go, makes him a sad panda.

Since I want to be able to do rated battlegrounds I'm gonna stick with Protection Paladin (my main anyway I would solo box this character alone if I wasn't boxing). and 4 Shaman.

If I didn't want to focus on PvP at all I'd swap out a Shaman for my Warlock to add Replenishment./Imp/Summons.
