First off my friends, I'm using the old standby macro.

#showtooltip Righteous Defense
/cast Righteous Defense
/Cast Hand of salvation

Now, I'm thinking of adding a mouseover to it, But I want to make sure I am doing this correct.

I target the actual player who has aggro right, and not the Mobs for this?

In other words, If I was to just use RD, I would target Player C and hit the key, and that would grab the mobs and send them to me correct?

Does anyone else use something like this, and if so, could they share what they use as a macro, or how they use it as far as mouseover or keybind.

Thanks again for all the help , so used to warrior tanking.

You cast Righteous Defense (http://www.wowhead.com/spell=31789) on a player (redirects 3 mobs on that player to you).
You cast Hand of Reckoning (http://www.wowhead.com/spell=62124) on a mob (taunt a mob).

Personally I don't use friendly nameplates, only enemy ones (gets too confusing for me). I use grid (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/grid.aspx)+ clique (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/clique.aspx)to see if any raidmembers have aggro that are not supposed to have it and then just right click on their name (which casts right def on them). Everyone uses of course what he is used to and find the most easy, but i find this way superior to any mouse over macro's myself.

That is not a bad idea, and gives me something to think about, as as soon as I get paid, I want to get back with Lax's software, and I already have grid Clique set up for healing.

I'm gonna play around with this now, and thanks

Righteous Defense and Hand of Salvation are both friendly-targetted. I use them as separate mouseovers since Salvation isn't snap agro :

/castsequence [target=mouseover] reset=5 Righteous Defense, Hand of Protection

/cast [target=mouseover] Hand of Salvation

Edit, I mouse over party frames not individual toons since my guys are all usually standing on top of me in a cluster of melee chaos.

Thanks Khatovar.

I've leveled about 6 Pallys and never had to worry about tanking yet, But this one guy, I want to make sure I'm getting it right.

Myself I use keybinds to heal (4x target chain heal on shammies + healing wave on the tank). This has been more than enough for me throughout my Wotlk HC dungeons journey. Have plenty of keys to do that as I'm using the G11 & G13 keyboards. Since I also (single) tank on my pally in icc, I use the same setup for boxing as for raiding: clique + grid and it basically looks like:

right click = righteous defense,
alt + right click = hand of salvation (to reduce threat)
alt + left click = hand of protection (prevent physical dmg on a player)
ctrl + right click = divine intervention (ie. bubble a player), i use a different modifier to prevent casting it by accident

I can imagine to have both tank & healing options setup with clique might get confusing. Maybe both running healbot & grid is an option here (e.g. use healbot for tanking & grid for healing)? That being said i don't use any commercial boxing software so i'm somewhat limited to know what's possible with the repeater regions.

Never thought about this or realized it was even possible. Thanks.

wow i always use righteous defense on a mob that isn't attacking me, not on my other guys.. fyi it works both ways. I always used it like an additional taunt...

Only works this way if you have its macro set up to target the targets target if your target is hostile, like in the setup thread linked in my signature.
Unless they changed it.

I've been using it that way since WOTLK came out and I don't have it macrod to anything. it's just the spell dragged from my spellbook.

I click a mob that isn't attacking me and click righteous defense and it taunts up to 3 guys onto me.

Oh nice, might be one less macro to take up slots in my macro storage then, I'll have to test it.

i use both Hand of Reckoning and Righteous Defense in the same "taunt" macro.

i just use [@targettarget] for righteous defense so i can use it the same way as Hand of Reckoning

I have them on separate buttons, but had a macro set up so Righteous Defense could be used as a regular taunt when targeting enemy, and its tooltip function when targeting friendly.
But if it does this by default now I can take the macro off, have not had a chance to test it yet (did not want to risk it while farming icc trash last night.)
