I just got AP and I was wondering what export preset you guys like to use for HD youtube videos. I used Youtube Widescreen HD but I feel like the quality could still be better. Any tips?

I've been using the WMV codec for a while now, but I usually use Sony Vegas for quick projects. If I'm using Premiere then I use:

WMV9
2 Pass
Variable Unconstrained
1920x1080
10,000 Kbps average

Using those settings a 6 minute video came out to about 450MB. Even at those settings using the new YouTube cap of 15 minute videos you'd be under the 2GB mark at nice 1080p quality.

Having known that I had gotten very nice quality out of WMV using Vegas I figured I would just stick with it. I was on a tight time schedule and didn't want to test out a ton of different codecs trying to figure out which one might be a little nicer.

I might end up trying that, right now im still trying to figure out how to get rid of the blurry text whenever I encode at the same resolution that I recorded at.

you have to have AP to make HD videos? I have SV as well, and am putting together a movie for the Blizzcon contest ( which I think can not be in HD ) I want to make a HD version for later.

No, Sony Vegas does it just fine. I like Sony Vegas better for most projects because it's easier and quicker to do a lot of things that seem tedious in AE/AP. If you want super fancy special effects and what not then AE/AP is the route to go.

However if you're recording at a resolution below normal HD resolutions then all you can do is upscale your videos and hope for the best. I hate having to upscale anything so I record everything at 1920x1080.
