View Full Version : Need help with Lotro.
Hello.
This is my first try at multi-boxing. And to get started i need some advice.
My game is Lotro, I use 2 computers (1 laptop). I was wondering if there is a program that lets you use 1 keyboard to do actions on each computer. If i press 1 on keyboard quickslot 1 on each computer is activated (but different "spells").
Hope any can give some advice on this.
Thanks!

i personally use Synergy with broadcasting.
if i put broadcasting on. and i have 2 accounts and 2 computers and i press "1" on the main computer, the other computer will also receive a "1"
i don't have lotro so i don't know exactly how to do it
you'd have to set your spells in the game
hope it helps a bit :)
Thanks for quick reply!
I have dl'ed synergy, but cant get it to work.
Are there any guides for easy setup?
Aslo, can the lotor team "see" that im using these kinds of programs?
I got them connected, and assigned a broadcasting hotkey.
But i dont want all keys to be active. Is there a way to only get the nr 1-9 buttons on keyboard to broadcast? so that the rest is only for main comp?
not from synergy
maybe other apps got this options.
what i did in WoW is unbind all the other keys on the 2ndary account

Shockbeta's version of MultiBox can be used to broadcast certain keys. It's what I use, and it worked great when I played LOTRO. I duo'd a Guardian/Minstrel combo to 20 then quit to come back to WoW :)

actually i use a normal Synergy. i go to hot key set up and setup the keys i want to broadcast. unfortunately for some reason 1-9 hot key pushes 1-9 on clients but not on the computer itself (wierd...) so I got around by doing 1-9 does 1-9 on local computer, Shift 1-9 does 1-9 on other clients.

If they look hard enough, yes.
However, as there's many ways to do the same thing without any programs (such as buying 2 wireless keyboards and setting both recievers to same frequency), and you are paying twice the subscribtion of single-boxers, there's very little chance they'll mind.
I still prefer Hardware - particularly 1 keyboard in each hand - as there's absolutely no way for them to tell me apart from 2 (not very good) players sitting next to eachother, but again, haven't seen any game with rules against paying them more money.
