So am running a 5x pally team. They are in their 30's currently and rising fast.
Any suggestions on best professions on them? Currently my main toon is miner/BS. I know i need an enchanting and jewelcrafting.. but thats still alot of blank spots. I don't see a reason to have more then 1 miner since they are running all together.. Would having each toon a BS + something else help? ect. just not sure

Even if you dont pvp that much, engineering is so much fun

1 alchemy / LW
1 alchemy / tailoring
1 alchemy / jc
1 alchemy / bs
could replace an alchemist for a skinner since he'll make you also good money

By default skinning, all the slaves can do it, they will loot with IWT and its free. Plus that non outlands leather sells for crazy. if bags fill the other skinners will loot the leather. They all level up at the same time.
Then some day when you want to do two 'real' professions you can just drop skinning.

While leveling up, I always have mining, herb, skinning, enchanting. I don't worry about any other real professions until I'm done leveling. Trying to keep professions up with leveling speed will slow you down greatly.
My main team has :
Tank - BS JC - extra sockets, better gems, trinkets. Always made getting over that hump between reg and heroic a little easier.
Healer - Ench Alch - ring enchants, nice trinket, bonuses to potions, endless mana/health. Always useful for a healer.
DPS - Eng Skin - Engineering is just so much fun. Bombs for extra AOE, Mote extractor, ammo, scopes for money. Jeeves, mailbox, for convenience. Jumpercables are useful if you don't have a team full of rezzers. And someone needed to skin.
DPS - Herb Alch - Needed someone to feed the alchemy horde {I have 7 alchemists altogether}
DPS - Mining - No way I'm paying for the ore/gems to feed 3 JCs, a BS, an Engineer and 7 Alchemists. I might add tailoring to this guy if tailors still get bonus cloth in Cata.
Tailoring, Inscription and Leatherworking are all on alts.

I always have a tailor to use up some cloth making greens. It is like a gathering profession to level up your enchanter

I have to agree with this. I currently have 14 alchemists maxed out and the passive income from that is amazing. You might add an engineer for the fun stuff but get as many alchemists as you can and make them all transmute masters and start your gem factory.

i did jc/enchanting on all of my4 ret pallys, and my prot pally went mining/enchanting. I like the idea of being able to blow up old gear to level out the remaining proffession levels :D
