Beta Access

So I really want to play the beta and I'm wondering about access. I have seen reputable sites raffle them off, but did not win. How can they even offer this? I thought you were only given access through your account management page by Blizzard. Also I have seen people trying to sell blizzcon 2008 beta cards(the mount etc) saying it gets you into the cataclysm beta. Is that true?

Some reputable sites DO have the ability give out beta access. what they have to do is send blizzard your battle.net account email.

Well from what I take it there are beta codes you can enter in the Add Game. Was watching a livestream and a guy in the chatroom said he just got a winning email from Zam. Said it had a code to enter.

Take it for what it's worth didn't seem like he would lie or had any reason to lie.

Sounds like something that should have been taken to PM. Now when you get Multibocks a beta invite you're going to have to get all of d-b.com a beta invite.

The chances of it happening are nearly zero, so you have nothing to worry about.

Also so now i have to give everyone game time for offering to give it to jafula right?

Blizzard gives out keys on thursdays normally, so just keep your hopes up.


Also, if i did get another key i'd have an essay contest here for now, and NOT just give it to him.

My luck I'd win and then i'd get my invite from Blizz the very next day, lol. All happening the last week of beta of course :D

I think people are so desperate to get in because WOW in its current state have us all bored to tears. My friends are always offline, guild I'm in only comes on to raid, and I'm just killing time myself.

Blizzard's Austin office is only around 4 miles from my house. Maybe I should sit out there with a case of beer or a stripper, or both.

I level toons to 75 right now and then i do GDKP with 5/12 harmode 11/12 overall five times a week.

You aren't like most people though Shad. How you maintain your level of motivation is beyond me. :eek:

I do admire your energetic nature and enthusiasm for WOW. Makes me feel like I should be doing more and motivates me.

My server is just a real wasteland now with a population ever declining. Cities are deserted at prime time and not really anything going on. Our horde population has been decimated and it's like my entire server is going to hell in a handbasket. It's going to be like this on my server until they release the new talents and/or Cataclysm.

Feel like i'm just waiting around with not much to do but farm gold or old reputation. None of that seems very motivating to me right now either. Raiding just isn't in my blood and the rewards I'd get don't motivate me either in light of Cataclysm.

The only reason i'm raiding now is to find competent raiders for my cataclysm guild.
