When do Pallies get fun to play? I am RAFing a Pally/Shaman in the mid 20s. Pally does not do much, buffs, the judgement and autohit. The shammy pulls and keeps the LB going. If it's a tough mob, maybe a totem or shock. I know they will get the awesauce some level but they sure seem blah now.

i started playing mine at 60 (RAF granted levels), so don't know much about lower levels.
At 60 however they were great fun, and could easily take elite mobs 3-4 levels higher solo (like the colossi in Hellfire peninsula)
Exorcism / Crusader strike / Divine Storm for example are all great ailities that you get as you level, and make the game fun.
At lower levels most classes are a bit boring as they have so little to play with (sub-40 Enh shaman or Shadow priest for example)

Funny you mentioned those, this is the first Shaman and I have quit/re-spec'ed my shadow preist (level 51) several times.

Well for prot paladin, until you get avenger's shield maxed out + 3/3 silencing effect its a bit of a chore. Frankly until your are 71 and have hammer and seal of command, things are pretty dull. I find that spec pretty fun.

Yeah, I have to admit, both Ret and Prot had some unahppy times during the leveling of my team where a skill that was fundamental to their playstyle wasn't available due to a level restriction.

That said, leveling is a one-off (at least, till the next expansion), so how a toon plays at max-level is, I think, far more important, and on that score, I enjoy my Pally team way more than my Shaman team.

I'm a little goofy - I had fun with my paladins from the get-go, but maybe it was because I leveled them entirely through instances, and they were my first real 5-box effort, etc. They are a bit repetitive or slow, since they don't start off with any autoattacks, but once you get consecrate it becomes kind of fun to pile up the mobs and AoE them into oblivion.

I had fun on my palies all the way but started having a lot more fun at level 60 when they got divine storm!

In Cata, all classes will be more fun at lower levels than they are now. Enhance shamies, for example, were boring to play at low levels as well. But now they get a new spam melee attack and core abilities at 10. ALL palies get crusader strike at level 1 no and one core abilities at lvl 10 based on spec.

I think anyone who ever leveled a toon, starting in vanilla WoW, should get the title " Old School" because leveling has been made very trivial in comparison. But WoW has always been relatively easy to level compared to the MMOS before it ( EQ took forever to level )

Very true. Levelling is a breeze compared to before they nerfed 1-60 post tbc.

I really enjoyed levelling my pally solo. Then again i didn't have the experience of other classes. You really get to know the class that way.

As for whether they get fun, HELL YEAH. get them prot post level 60 with some gear and laugh as mobs try and hit you, you block, get mana and laugh some more.

the epicness felt when we finaly dinged 60 and announced "Ding!" in gchat back then makes up for the title :-)
