View Full Version : Wintergrasp balance?
I'm really struggling on my Alliance toons on my server (Firetree). Just about every LWG we lose. I mainly play horde side on this server, and that's where my main is, but I wanted to build and Alliance team. It's almost not worth it. I checked timeuntilwintergrasp dot com (not linking it because it was my first time there... ), and that site shows that for July it was 234 wins to 37 losses for the horde. The horde defends 86% of the time. That's ridiculous This to me screams extremely unbalanced server. Does anyone know if they are doing anything to rectify these types of situations, or is my only relief to pay for character transfers? How does Blizzard let a PvP server get this bad?

Wintergrasp is fine, it has many balance checks built into it to favor one side or the other depending on certain scenarios. But even with all those checks, each side is required to show up and be competent to win. If you go into the room where the summoning stone is, there is a book that is "kept by Archavon" that will give you 100% accurate numbers of each factions defend / captures since wrath launched.

A majority of servers have this kind of imbalance in favor of either horde or alliance depending on the server. Deal with it, resist it, fight it or join it are your only options.

most o the time this is due to numbers. if one side is a full raid ( 2 and half full raids? ) an the other maybe one raid or less. Tenacity or not, the numbers still overwhelm the underdog side. this is not always true. I am on a server where Ally outnumber us by a ton. and the horde win with less than half the ally numbers sometimes. in fact IF we ever win it is when we are at least with 1-3 tenacity. Tenacity only heps against players, when you jump into a siege to go kill walls.. the tenacity does not affect the vehicle. So the zerg just decimates your attempts to get through the walls most the time.
So one fix that Bliz will be implementing is a one to one queue. Should go live for WG in a future patch ( I'm guessing the pre-cata event patch) Now if you still lose WG most the time, it will be based on skill, since one side will not overwhelm the other like they can today.
