Hey Guys, Well atm i'ma hardcore raid as a Moonkin Named Taula :D. I play on the Aerie Peak server EU. Allaince Ofc!
So anyway.. I have become really bored of raiding. doing the same thing over and over every week just waiting for Cata to come out  . And i have been looking into multi-boxing for the past few weeks. I never bothered to actually try and multi-box. I'm hoping to hopefully go into 5 man multi-boxing , maybe even 10man! But.. Atm I'm gonna stick with 2-3 man multi-boxing.

I was wonder if anyone could give me some links to multi-boxing programs / add-ons and Advice ofc.

Oh and What would be a good 2 man or 3 man multi-boxing set up?

For 2man i was think 2 eles shamans and 3 man 2 ele shamans and 1 resto for them small waiting times for random :D .

I am hopen i can use Raf on the two new accounts, But i dunno how i would set the Raf up

e.g.

Link A1 > A2 , A3

or

Link A1 > A2 and link A3 too A2 ?

Thanks a Bunch!

I'd say get to reading. This entire site covers that. Read the Wiki, read the FAQ, read the forums, especially the stickies.

well if you go for raf and you have a druid already you could either just lvl 2 ele's and boost them with ur druid. but youl need to think this trough because if you would like to just do randoms with a new druid and 2 ele's with either options you need a different way to raf. il try to explain some.

Account A(druid @ 80)
Account B(new acc)
Account C(new acc)

there are different ways to do this both have pro's/con's il list them here:

Option 1

B>A
C>A

Pro's: have one instand lvl 60 no need to lvl or anything. perhaps to lvl 2 or something but.. that should be no problem. i prefer this method because i dont like boosting. 1-60 is the prefect time to learn how to setup/learn to box/tweak ur macros ect ect. especialy for your first team. (but that is everyones own choice).

Con's: not able to boost. atleast not with account A since you loose your 3x exp bonus since ur druid is to high lvl to give exp boost. i was lucky i had some IRL friends wich acc i could use for my second team to boost.

Option 2:

C>B>A.

Pro's: this way you can boost and grand lvl's 2 char to 60 after you level 2 chars to 30(as second team).

this way whatever you do ul always have raf. the con about this is if you would like to grand lvl one to 60. you would need to boost or lvl another team to 30 before you can have 2x 60's on account B and A.

i hope this makes any sence at all.. any comment or corrections are welcome.

Hi and Welcome,

Though there are many who two box and some that 3 box, I'd say if you're already looking a 5 or 10 boxing you should just go ahead and jump right in. RAF is the way to go. Just make sure that you use the code they send you to start the trial account :o. I five boxed right from the start. Be prepared for those who are ignorant to make comments .... good and bad.

I'd re-spec / dual spec your druid feral then boost your new toons to 60 via instances. You should be able to do that in a weekend of committed game play... just make sure you have the gold to buy mounts and spells at 60. About 300g per toon for your first two mounts and spells 1-60. Shammies are a great way to get your feet wet. They offer decent burst dps, fear protection via tremor totems, knock backs, AOE with fire totems, healing, reincarnation, and rez's.

There are a few good software programs out there that range in price from free, to a subscription based payment. At this stage not knowing how things work makes making that decision a bit difficult. If you ask which one is better, be prepared for a few different answers. Everyones taste, and ability, is different. There will be plenty of people willing to offer you help. I've used Keyclone, and ISBoxer. Both are very good, but I'm using ISBoxer and Innerspace right now. I find it fits my needs quite well.

Like Khatovar said, this site is full of good information. The wiki is a great place to start.

Option 1 is wrong, none of those accounts will get 3x bonus\
Option 2 is backwards.
The first set of links would be the best way to get RAF. Invite From A, and get that set up, then invite from B. A>B>C You have the option of boosting with your main. That way B>C will get RAF. The other part was right about granting. C can grants levels to B, and B can grants levels to A.

Hey guys. Thanks for all the replys. As of today i set up a 2 man team of shamans ( am gonna add more accs soon! )

But One thing is ... I mostly have around 15 fps on the master wiindow and slave windom.. But the i get these totally random 1 fps spikes for like 20-30secs at a time which happens ever 5-10 mins. Its really annoying as when i am running around i loose the slave. and in pvp its killing me.

System Spec:

Operating System
MS Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit SP2
CPU
Mobile AMD Sempron 3600+ 56 °C
Sherman 65nm Technology
RAM
2.0GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 332MHz (5-5-5-15)
Motherboard
Dell Inc. 0XM006 (Microprocessor)
Graphics
Generic PnP Monitor @ 1280x800
ATI video (Dell)
Hard Drives
Optical Drives
HL-DT-ST CDRW/DVD GCCT10N ATA Device
Audio
SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC

Is there any upgrade that might be needed? Would be nice if i could be recommened some. thanks.

When ppl see me in bgs / out questing / in cities , they either follow me or be wispering me calling me a ' Multiboxing faggot ' I just do a cheeky smile and a dance for them. :P

Someone more knowledgeable will probably be able to look at your specs and tell you where it's slowing you down, but what I suggest is opening up the Performance Monitor when you're running both toons and see what you're dealing with. Is your CPU usage constantly at 100%? Is your memory maxed out?

To my untrained eye it seems like your single core processor may be the bottleneck.

Hey DrunkMurray,

Yes my CPU Usage is constantly at 100% and under that it shows Memory 1.48 GB , I'm thinking thats how much is free.

Is it a bad thing that the CPU is constantly 100%?

Is this a laptop? You can add memory but nothing else. A desktop? Give it to Grandma and buy a real machine. Sorry but you can buy a much better desktop for under $500

Yea its a Laptop. Ahhh Right any recomendations on a new desktop? I Have no idea what an ideal machine can handle 5 boxing. Thanks.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that it's your CPU that's causing your freezing, not your memory . One thing to try is shutting down every non-essential service and program that is running in order to free up as much as possible. Make sure your graphics are cranked down as low as they can go on both characters and see if that helps. If so then you can slowly turn them back up on your main.

Still, dual-boxing on a single core is pushing it and since it's a laptop your only solution really is to upgrade to a new one or buy a desktop.

all depends on budget. Then build or buy. What is available in your area?

Ideal?
new Intel cpu
8 or 12 gigs RAM
This year's GPU
Rest is normal stuff unless you get a SSD.

i 5 box on a core 2 duo with 8 gig ram, 512 mb video and windows 7 64bit. That's probably your cheapest option and the 2 cores will become a bottleneck quickly. If you can use more than 1 machine that could help too but ideally get a quad core or something from star trek or chinese people to help (that was a joke Svper hehe)
