And a newcomer to Dual-Boxing.

I have never been really interested in playing more than 1 character until just last week. I've been researching quite a bit, and have taken the time to read through tons of stickies and watch plenty of videos.

Just wanted to introduce myself.

I play on Arthas
My main character is an Undead Disc Priest Level 80
I enjoy doing PvP currently, I used to do raiding on a resto druid but I got pretty burnt out on that and quit WoW for a little while.
I have played since Vanilla Beta, off and on.

So, just wanted to say hi and I'm glad to be here.

I'm sure I'll have tons of questions as I have just gotten ISBoxer/Innerspace/Jamba and have a lot to learn before I am playing at a decent pace. I might stop by some IRC channels for help, because I know I'll need it.

Right now I've started a Hunter/Rogue team to try out my first Dual-Boxing experience, and though I'm only level 3 now(Just messing around with settings) I already enjoy the extra challenge Dual-Boxing brings.

Nice to read that there are still people who read before they post! Good luck with the messing around then ;)

You play on EU or US btw?

Good luck!

You've chosen possibly the most odd combo for your first team: hunter/rogue. Keep leveling them as long as you're enjoying it, but if it's not working out then you may want to consider having a healer/rezzer or looking at toons that compliment each other.

You can match up any two people, but for me, I looked for what would help me do elite quests back in the day when they were all over the place. So I added a healer to heal my mains. It was a priest, since that is what I knew at the time and liked the buffs. Now you can choose from any healer and do pretty well. Also, it might get you near instant queues for dungeons.

The next addition I made was a lock. I wanted a person I didn't have to do much with. Just mash attack a couple of times (didn't have key broadcasting back then, all done with mouse buttons) and done. 2-3 DOTs and pet sicced on mob. The pet acted like a tank and with a priest as my main, I could kill elite mobs easily. So I would offer that as a my option, your lock/hunter can heal the pet. The pet can tank and you can just have fun with ANY class you want. They are both ranged and if you just break follow you can park them and have them DPS easily.

But, with melee main/alts that is a little more tricky. It has gotten better with Interact With Target (IAWT), but it is more work no matter you look at it. The next part is a rogue and cat druid is going to be worse than most sice they need to be behind mobs to do fun stuff.

So until you get better and bigger, I would suggest a healer or pet class as one of your chars. (main or alt, doesn't matter) Not saying other things can't be done, just they are a lot of work, and if you are just starting out, might want to try something easy.

Yeah I've been thinking of changing the combo around, I already have a 60 druid, 71 shaman, and 80 priest, and then I have a 66 paladin on another server so I felt like if I wanted I could just transfer one of those over and it would be a waste to use my RAF leveling a healer when I have one of each already.(I'm obsessed with healing classes)

I've been thinking of doing Mage/Paladin or Lock/Paladin, but I'm still really undecided. From all the wiki's I've read, it seems like in Dual-Boxing having a healer isn't needed as much because you can level to 80 solo without a healer so why would having 2 characters make it any different. I guess in those situations where you run into some tough mobs though a healer would be nice. That's why I went with hunter, because he can act as a healer for the pet who can act as the tank.

i find it's mostly a rezzer that i need, rather than a healer (then again all rezzer classes are also healers)
Just because there's always that stupid death that not amount of healing would have saved (SONsOF %^#$ ARUGAL, big agro pack, fall, FEL REAVER, etc)
Having a rezzer just cuts out the doing time in those cases.

then again, both the classes you're playing (rogue/hunter) have a pretty strong escape mechanism (vanish/feign death) so you'll probably be able to survive those nasty occasions where a healer would help hehe

get one of them to go engi with cables and you're all set :-)
