Get a hunter.
Get a hunter.
Get a hunter.

I run a mixed group with paladin tank, priest healer, and shaman, druid, mage as casters..
I've started clearing some heroics and the ToC/ICC normals, and all i'm getting is mail/leather attack power crap >.<
it's so frustrating. A hunter could have made use of all those items and would be geared by now. the waste is infuriating.

I have a hunter at 70, on the mages account.. really thinking of trying him out.. but the mage tables and ports are really useful, and the mage's dps is not too shabby considering the gear he's in.
argh...
ow well, Disenchant and Vendor i guess, my loot (bad)luck will change soon hopefully.

Zub,

It's the cruel humor of the RNG gods. You can see my mixed team in my sig, which includes a hunter, and you would not believe how much mail/plate healing gear drops for me...lol

Hang in there, the gear you want/need will eventually drop.

yeah i know, just ranting a bit after clearing a couple instances and having to DE every single bit.
i guess i should keep the attackpower leather / mail / plate, in case i want to switch my toons to other specs (feral/enhance/ret)
I wont bother for now because i can't be asked to redo my makeup, but will do in Cata and store the items somewhere... just in case
at least *I* can make use of the leather items :-)

I would love to have a hunter in my team, maybe then my wlock wouldn't steal agro at the start of every fight, but hunter becomes pretty much useless whenever you need to keep your toons on /follow.

Ugh hunters are such bad dps comparatively. I can easily pull 8k dps with a warlock, but a hunter? Nope. Also, undergeared hunters are even worse dps than an undergeared anything (well except warrio, so gear dependent)

well, with all the drops i sharded i'd expect my hunter would have been my highest dps :-/

come Cata, i'll probably use those drops with my shaman/druid and make an all melee team by subbing my mage with my warrior (and keeping just the priest as caster)

I give leather/mail ap gear to my druid and shaman for offspec *shrug* my multiclass team can use anything that drops.

I had : dk, priest, Lock, Mage, hunter and I replaced hunter for a shammy

Mage is actually highest dps and lock has lowest. I am all iLvl 232+

Once you start running hunters, only plate and mail will drop.

Is a Hunter realy that bad ?

I start to comeback and figured out, what Setup i take..The optimal Range Setup ist ( mmo raid champion ) PROT,Moonkin,Hunter,Mage and Rest Shamy. All Buffs here.

but now i am not sure about that.. i always thought a hunter is a great multibox Char and make easy 7000/8000 Dps in Endgame.

I have a hunter in my mixed group, and I am seriously considering dropping him for a warlock or a boomkin. The main buff you get from a hunter is replenishment, but warlocks can provide that as well. My hunter's DPS is significantly lower than my mage AND my ele shaman.

Frankly the biggest issue with a hunter (IMHO) is not dps, it's the dead zone and the positioning issues that leaves you with. Keeping my hunter at effective range is a major problem in dungeons like VH, that would otherwise be far less painful with all the toons on /follow

Makes me very sad face as my hunter is my raiding main.....

Same boat, my warlock is coming in third in DPS after my Shaman and Mage (highest). Not far behind mind you, but still regularly last place. I'm wondering if I need to tweak my macros.

I have a 76 hunter I'm leveling up to join my team and swap out from time to time, but as Iru mentioned the deadzone for the hunter makes positioning of the ranged a bit more hands-on. That's unfortunate as my hunter is one of my older toons that I had put a lot of time in back when I single-boxed.

I dont do a ton of pve but when I do I really really like my Arcane mage.

Thier rotations are so easy and their dps is excellent. Looking ahead to cata blizz has said CC is making a comeback. Mages CC is the best by bar- best of both worlds. Free water/food/ports etc....

I have a 5900GS hunter that I recently started boxing with my guys and I love it ><

He keeps up with / out dmgs on longer boss fights my 5900-6k GS shamans.

Although if your tank isn't a DK (mine isn't) the most efficient class would probably be a destro lock imo >< 13% dmg + replen > just replen.

I seldom had issues with range when I played hunter.

The few times the mobs got in the dead zone, I would just take a step or 2 back.

Not sure what people's issues with playing hunters are.

Hahaha I agree. I am about to run a new mixed ranged team from 0-60 and had instant flashbacks of all the huntard loot that dropped in the instances.
