I've done the same thing (pre multiboxing). F4 was mapped to a heal or something and I wanted to self-cast ...

The funny part: I was like, "WTF just happened"
The reality: I bound my F1-F5 keys to my characters. I was originally using Ctrl+Fn for Healing Wave in rotation. When I got Lesser Healing Wave, I thought, I will just put that on "Alt". You can figure out the rest :)
