Ok, so I am wanting to multi box again, I used to tri-box ages ago and it was lots of fun but PC has changed since then and I'm wondering whether my current PC would be able to handle 3-4 clients (leveling from 1-60 for now).

I really want to 5 box but PC isn't good enough for that (yet). I'll be looking to get a new gfx card soon if I can't run 3-4.

So, before I buy ISBoxer and find out my PC is too shit for me to box properly...here are my specs (please be kind enough to tell me if I will fail epically).

EDIT:
Intel Core2 Duo E7300 2.66GHz = Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 2.66GHz
4gb DD3 RAM
Win7 Ultimate 32bit
ATI Radeon HD 3850 = Geforce GTX 275

Yay upgrade.
Also I have a laptop I can use, maybe run my slaves on my desktop pc and my main on my laptop? or visa versa. Laptop specs are:

Intel pentium T4400 2.2GHz 800mhz fsb
4gb RAM
ATI Radeon HD Mobility 5470
Win7 Home Premium 64bit

(also I dunno whether this is the right forum to post in?)

The answer is yes, your PC can handle 3 to 4 clients, 3 will be more comfortable than 4.

What is going to hold you back is actually the CPU, not your video card. You can drop graphics settings in WoW to lowest and get by just fine with most video cards that aren't low-end. My main PC uses an 8800 GTX, that's like 40 generations old now.

However, you can't really make the game use significantly less CPU. Ideally, you want 1 CPU core per instance of the game. If you have 2 instances on the same CPU core, that means each of them is basically limited to 50% of the CPU -- take your 2.66GHz and divide it by 2, and it'll be somewhat like playing 1 character on a 1.33GHz. It'll be slower, but manageable.

Anyway, I'd recommend filling out the 7-day trial application form and you can see how it will perform before making a decision

Ok, I will look at a processor upgrade then.

What would you recommend?

best upgrade on that board will be a quad, a Q6600 (what I have) or a Q9xxx. Prices are close depending on the seller.

I was using a laptop with 2.2ghz (dual core) and running 5 clients ok with a worse video card and it was playable. Just mess with video settings until you find out what works best for you. If money isn't a big deal then upgrade, but that setup "will" work, just depends on how nice you want it to look.

i 5 box with:

Core 2 duo
8 gig ram (could just about box with 4 using keyclone, but the switch ISboxer meant I needed more ram)
GEForce 8500GT
bog-standard hard drive
Windows 7 home premium 64bit.

It works fine in all areas except dal where it's a little slow but just about manageable. slaves are set to 15 FPS, main at 30.

I bought a Core 2 Quad 2.66GHz Q8400 today, $215AUD.
Also I messed up saying DDR3, it's DDR2.

Bought 4 Battle Chests also, and my friend is gonna sell me a brand new GTX275 for $150AUD.
