Some people were asking about GDKP, here are some essential links and social commentary.

Most of the runs are a hand full of guys that tank and heal content and can man handle it a few guys down. Even if you are a healer or a tank, they will want you top show up to DPS even if its a sad panda non hit capped dps. They guys likely have no need for the gear in the place. This seems in contrast with some of the KJ advertised GDKP runs where as a 'buyer' they still have high performance gear score requirements. This concept is somewhat lost on me, even when wanting to show up as a buyer. Meh, i

If you die in the fight, don't qq that they suck. They are primarily worried about killing the boss, not getting achievements or similar. They want maximized loot sales, and frankly you want maximized loot as well.

Being asked what items your looking for roughly how much is pretty common it seems, if you don't know they are likely not all that interested in you. Time is money friend. Frankly my wowhead wishlist is ready and waiting, its rarely something I would have a hard to not going on and on about: the heroic tanking shield, heroic tanking weapon, two trophies is good enough.

Trouble is, a lot of them don't build the group based on having a few dedicated buyers, dedicated carriers, and middle of the road people. Usually the entire raid is "middle of the road" so many items end up getting sharded because there's nobody that needs a lot of the stuff, other than the hard modes. Also, a lot of them tend to have people bidding on gear that they cant possibly use, just to drive the prices up, and many bring along "fake" buyers who have no gold and are just there to leech gold from the group, because they are friends with the raid leader.

Don't get me wrong, I love GDKP and geared many of my toons that way, but you have to be careful, and make sure the group is being built correctly. I think Kawasa was on one that was hosted by Cinabro, and had a bad experience, so I wouldn't join one of their runs again.

I've heard Ground Monster Alien [GMA] is trustworthy.

GMA is definetely a good group, I haven't run with them since Feb when i was gearing the priest, not sure if they're still around. Check out HBAT (Have a Bank and Tabard) they run weekly ICC GDKPs. Not sure if anyone is regularly running ToC GDKPs. Every ToC pug I've done recently can't even down Anub, and most can't even down FC. It's like higher level gear has made them all dumb.

HBAT is only pulling people with ridiculous GS and money. I almost felt like they were using those people for progression. I tried to get in with my 5400gs hunter as a buyer and they said that I was lacking in achieves, but they had higher GS hunter that they were taking. WTF over? Who is going to buy the loot if they are already above 264 loot in all slots??

This was a while ago, so maybe they are taking lower gs now. I think the expansion has probably killed what people are willing to pay for gear so show up with a wad of cash and they might take ya.

hmm I've never run with them. I know their first priority is recruiting for their guild to do progression 25 mans, so that's probably why they want GS so they can try to recruit the people in GDKP to their guild.

Ya unfortunately that means their GDKP runs don't make much, but then they probably know that and are ok with it.

Ok, so on KJ a number of the raids could be considered 'reverse GDKP' where the people running the raid are looking for high performance gear score and achievements and are acting as organized buyers.

This makes some sense then.

I always wondered when GDKP runs would be exploited in this way. Seemed the obvious conclusion when I first learned of the concept so long ago.
