i got into beta and i have to admit, while you cant get all the bubble stuff the heal/holynova smite strat is intreeeging :) I played around with a lvl 80 priest a bit soloing, and its still strong even though you have to cookie cutter somewhat. and things are still changing too so they might move some stuff around.
keep going! i wants to see some hot lvl 80 pvp action next! :) hehe

I'm not totally sold on these guys at 80 for WotLK, though they could be ok for Cata. I think mana is going to be a huge issue in the expansion, but I'll also be able to really control my mana by alternating holy nova and smite. Also, I'll have 4 or 5x mana burn, which should take out any healer from the battle.

All I do know is these guys are a ton of fun. However, I really don't like AB anymore when 5 boxing. Either tons of love, or tons of hate. Given how often Ally win on my BG, I get tons of hate, even if at the end of the game I have around 50 kills and 15 total deaths with many node assaults. They want you to go on offense as well as stay back and defend. Oh well...

As for mana, well theres a few skills in the holy tree that let you heal and get mana back or similar mechanics. Just because your strat of Holy nova and smite only works well doesn't mean you cant use the other spells as well :) i think it will be fine given your shadowfiend(which i think is still there) and all the talents, should make for a fun group in cata

Did not notice (maybe I missed) but you got dispels set up? What about fear rota and fear ward? Got all slaves popping renew on leader char pre big fight?

Also interested in seeing you fighting the good fight at 80. Had tons of hate when I use to PvP pre WotLK with my 5 shammies. Atleast I got use to the hate. :P

Would appriciate if you could do a video of AV whenever you got the time and energy.

Dispels are set up and I did try the fear ward rotation, but it never worked all that well. I think my toons get so many magical debuffs in a fight that many times the fear doesn't get cleansed. I may try dispelling more often and seeing if that helps the problem. Still, a fear ward and trinket evry couple of minutes is decent protection. Priests and warlocks are my highest priority. Hunters still tear me a new one.

I often renew my lead, or whoever is taking damage. With cataclysm, improved renew with the instant heal will help. Currently mouseover healing is only setup for renew.

Regarding AV, that will be tough. Currently I can beg the by leader to give me lead or assist and it works most of the time. AV I have no prayer. Also, the ONLY time I can get in a bg is during the holiday weekend, and that's the only one I can do. Hopefully that changes at 80.

Luckily, I think Cata is going to really help with the mana problem

-I'll now get consistent free smites which will mean just an alternating holy nova, smite sequence
-Getting 15% mana back every 12 seconds (I think that's the cooldown on evangelism) will help. Granted I may not be able to get 5 smites off in time, but it should be close (0.5 for holy nova, 1.5 for smite, cycle five times is 10 seconds)
-I'm most worried about their lack of burst. However, supposedly Cata is changing that and sustained DPS may be better. With the amount of DoTs and high survivability, these guys may be ok

I don't think this team will be viable at 80 in WotLK. I guess I'll see how well they do with gear, but I likely won't close the gear gap before the expansion (and probably won't try hard to do so either, with all that farming being tossed away come Cata).

I may throw a shaman in as the fifth. It would be nice to have a tremor totem, a bit more burst, and thunderstorm for when getting swarmed (though usually I like that).

Fear is my biggest weakness. Hunters are my next biggest. For the life of me I can't figure out how to get a hunter down with ease. They deal so much freaking damage and have a ton of survivability mechanisms. If anyone has some hunter killing suggestions, then please let me know :)

This one moves your player frame to the middle of the screen below your player model and puts the target frame just to the right of it. It also scales both frames to 150% (SetScale(1.5)) so you can change that number to be different if you don't want them as large or want them larger. Ghono, since you're in beta, can you please clarify something for me?! I'm not sure if chakra is in the beta build yet, but it's annoying me to no end that mmo-champion, and other sites, have the chakra talent calculator showing what looks like a mistake.

Chakra says you can enter into a chakra state with heal, prayer of healing, or renew. It then lists the benefits for those three. However, it also lists the benefits for smite. Did they just forget to add smite to the list of spells that will put you in chakra or is it a passive buff? (please be passive buff, please be passive buff.... wishing probably won't help)

I was specifically going to ask this question because the few times I have 5boxed my guys in BG's I get hate about controlling 1/2, 1/3 or 1/8 of the total number of players in there.

I mean it makes sense that if you are controlling a good portion of the total number of people in there that you have the biggest amount of responsibility for any win or loss.

Would you say that you end up winning more than losing? The one day I spent a few hours doing this I just ended up turning off my BG chat so it stopped bothering me, but what bothered me more was that I wasn't making a big difference because I hadn't spent a whole lot of time figuring out how to pvp my group properly.

I feel like I'm honest with myself, and would admit if I was the cause of loss. If I'm having a bad day in WoW, then I can definitely cause the loss. However, even though we lost more than 50% of the AB games, I'm certain the my priest team pulled their weight plus some. I can't say the same for my druid team.

I think the priest team is going to be very good in EotS this weekend.

CURRENTLY(as of the last new beta patch) THIS is how the talent reads:

Chakra
when you use prayer of healing, renew, or heal 3 times in a row you will enter a chakra state empowering you for 20 seconds. you can only be in one at a time.

then it lists the 4 spells, including smite. the upper portion tooltip does not reflect that smite is used to get the shakra but it is. You have to cast 3 times to make it proc. And YES IT IS A passive buff, when you get 3 casts in a row, you get the chakra bonus. Its THAT simple :) you get a buff on you that lasts for 20 seconds

Only allowed to be one chakra state at a time but its currently bugged and you can have 2 or 3 up at once lol. not sure if intentional but its like this now :)

Your healing stuff is awesome here, and using spells you "don't normally use" you're gonna use. You should, because its going to make things better for you :)

From what i've seen just playing with this for a few minutes for you, i cant WAIT to do my priests lol :)

I was hoping it was a truly passive buff that applied regardless if you were in Chakra, or maybe the smite bonus applied if you were in any of the three Chakra states, but is sounds like they're just missing smite from the beginning of the description :( oh well. I'm not sure how useful that spell is going to be for PvP, and for PvE I was planning on using a discipline build, so I'm not sure I'll even be putting talent points into it.

Sorry, I'm still confused.

As I understand it, if you cast renew three times in a row, you only get the renew bonus.
If you cast prayer of healing three times in a row, you only get the prayer of healing bonus.

Since smite isn't listed, is it possible that if you're in any of the three chakras, you also get the smite bonus?

There's only three situations that I see:
1) They forgot to add smite to the start of the text and it will be fixed later
2) Smite is a passive bonus that you get just for getting that talent, you don't need to be in a chakra state to get the benefit
3) The smite benefit shows up if you're in any of the three chakras, but you can't enter into a chakra by using smite

I'm guessing it's #1, but who the hell knows :D

The chakra state is nice, with 9% more damage, but I'm not sure I'd consider it OP considering you have to stand there and spam smite three times in a row. I'm not sure I'd ever do that in PvP. I'll likely take the 'Test of Faith' allowing my toons to increase healing healing 12% on targets below 50%.

Imo its worth it, spamming nova to aoe a bit then spam some smites to take out a target.

My ideal opener would be to run in and pick a target, hunter perhaps, pop 5 sw pains then spam a few holy nova til free smite proc then spam smite till chakra then a few novas and a sw death to finish him off :)

Until Cataclysm, this group lives and dies depending on if they're in the same group since holy nova is party only. In the expansion that restriction is supposedly lifted which will mean I don't have to spam the accept battleground area hoping to get leader in whatever BG is going on.
