Noob moments while multiboxing

well my last in date was yesterday.
Just about to attack the Devilsaur boss in Draktharon, i press my special key to prevent fear effects (basically my shaman drops a tremor, and my priest puts a fear ward on my paly tank)

Turns out my key press was not aimed very well and i pressed the key next to it as well.

I pull, only to realize that 2 of my toons are now standing in the K3 inn..
Yes, the key next to my fear protection key is hearthstone.. both the toons that didn't cast anything a second before (mage and druid) escaped as I pulled >.<
Still managed to pull it off with 3 toons (being all 80s on normal mode) but the mage missed on loot (that'll teach him) and I had to fly them back lol.

apart from that, the mage also managed to kill himself on a series of reflected spells :-/ I didn't realize they were reflecting lol.

another of those /facepalm moments.
could be worse i guess, i could be doing reply-to-all from the ESRB

Not really a noob moment, cause I kept doing it all the time, but mine was always dismounting my followers in flight because I'd forget to toggle keys when I talk in gchat. The worst was when the audio was low enough that I didn't hear the death throes of the followers and I'd try and air drop an elite only to realize I had no backup.

1. Not putting Righteous Fury back up on the Prot after a wipe (thereby causing another wipe, and another chance to forget to put Righteous Fury back up on the Prot after a wipe).

2. Leading with a ret in a Dungeon cause I switched to one of them for some reason and forgot to switch back.

3. Failing to realise a follower broke follow and then dismounting my team while he is still 500 feet in the air.

Doing the quest chain where you eventually fly to the ally city in boran tundra on a "rocket" or spear. Well atleast my main did... the rest was on follow and jumped of the cliff dying.

I laughed so bad.

no biggie, i got a big laugh out of it, and i just moved the keybind a bit further :-)

i also managed to disband my group during a random instance, and everyone but 1 guy (the last to disband i guess) got ported out and put on a RandomLFD cooldown timer lol

I have my hearth set to ctrl-v, and if i forget to turn of key broadcasting and i start trying to use copy/paste hotkeys in something else, I realize all my toons have hearthed.

That is a rather epic keybinding to put something like that on.

Doing that quest in the north of howling fjords. In the mountains where you fight your own copy. You get a slow fall effect to jump of the mountain.

So I did and 4 other chars fell to their deaths in a spot where no rez was possible:D

Hard way to find out that you have to do the quest on each char :p

I`m in orgrimmar, creating my first /click macro and I`m bashing the dps key and wondering why the dummy remains unharmed. Turns out I had my dps skills in the wrong hotbar and I was spamming /trade with a guild recruitment macro like a fucking moron.

Haha Yeah done that!

1: Flying my toons very very high above WG while i go AFK then returning and Clicking water shield (F12) instead of Pause break (to mute clones) and having time to tell my guild what i just did as we all fall to our death :(

2: Fighting a boss and wiping very fast then screaming and shouting my head off as my toons just stood there doing nothing, blaming macro's and general raging! then realising i had clicked Shift+2 at the start of the fight and my toons were eating : /

3: Getting raped in AV again as toons doing nothing just standing there but this time on correct hotbar only to realise i kept clearing focus with F2 instead of following with F1 : / sorted that dumb button placement out fast lol

I've done the falling to death thing many times by dismounting certain toons while they are flying somewhere by accidently hitting my flying mount button. Usually this is three toons as I'm trying to catch the other two of them up to the same dailies in Icecrown so I forget about the three that are just hovering around. Best to put them in an inn somewhere until I'm done so they don't cast mount at all. :)

How about broadcasting your screen name and password in /say in the middle of a crowded city because I accidently left broadcast on (back when I was using Keyclone) and one of my toons had gone offline. After realizing this I quickly changed my pw.

I still do a few stupid deaths in instances as well, but I'm getting to the point where it's more rare, and this usually involves accidently leaving the druids bags all open so it's covering up the click spot where I'm trying to heal on my paladin's screen. Most of my heals are on macros now so that doesn't happen, but when I was first using repeater areas this happened several times, and I'd say to myself, "Why isn't the $O#% druid healing!"

well i had / for using homestone for a long time.. so when i forgot disabling my keymaps while i wanted to change speak channel or something i just port my toons foe example out of the bg ^^
happedn kinda 3-4 times until i understood what was happening ^^

more stupid things:
in Ajzol Nerub, fighting Anub. I hit my spread out macro to avoid being aoe hit on spikes, and one toon decides to run away ( as they do sometimes.. annoying when it happens) , i then hit my follow key to make him come back, and manage to get him just in time.

now i realize the other 3 slaves (obviously) ran to my tank as well, and yes, Anubarak is now casting Pound.
Thankfully it's a short run back.

My hearthstone is ctrl + [ . That's a pretty safe spot for it.

I've discovered the hard way that if you turn on autorun and then go into follow mode, you will follow correctly; until your follow target stops, at which point you run past them, break follow, and continue autorunning. More than once I've had a character get stuck on something, switch to his screen, tell him to autorun towards my group, and then when he gets nearby I'd hit my follow key and start walking to my next destination, unware of the fact that autorun is still actually on. Then when I stop in front of my next pull, my priest breaks follow and runs off into 4 groups before dieing. I've done this countless times before I finally figured out what was really going on.

Back when I used AHK and had all keys set to broadcast to all open windows of anything (because, of course, I only wowed when I was using AHK) I wound up posting the contents of a very long and personal letter I was writing to an ex who was trying to reconnect with me... to trade.

I'd forgotten that I was hawking enchants in /2 when I got and then decided to respond to his email. On the plus side, I did get a couple of nice whispers from people in support of my decision.

Other noob thing just happened 10 minutes ago. I'm running my team through Gnomergon (all at level 29) and started to attack with my tank when.... I notice everyone else just teleported out of the dungeon. Numlock was off, and my bind for leaving LFG dungeons is the same key I use to initiate an attack on my keypad.

the problem i have at te moment, is remembering to toggle key maps off or on again.
basically, for whatever reason (repair, bags full, whatever) i'll port one guy out of the instance, and when i want to port him back IN i forget and port the other 4 OUT at the same time..

When I bought ISBoxer my screenshots started being broken. They were ok on the bottom half but the top half looked like a photo with coffee spilt on it. Nothing fixed it. I reinstalled my video driver, ISBoxer, everything I could think of. When not using ISBoxer it worked. I hopped on the IRC to tell Lax about this 'bug'. He was very nice and patient and said "are you broadcasting all of your keys when you hit PRINT SCREEN . . . ?". DOH! 5 toons at once were trying to save a screenshot to the same file name.

I had that aswell with other software though, it layered the 4 wow's, so the bottom would be 1 wow, then from a quarter up to halfway the second etc. Often with some purple/blue coloring added.

I can't count how many times I've been flying to the airship (horde or alliance) and dismounting to gather/turn-in quests and not knowing a toon lost follow miles ago. Or on the airship and mounting ground mounts and running off, only to watch it rain shaman. Or hitting "E" (my buff castsequence) instead of "W" (forward) while in the air. Most of mine seem to involve flying and lack thereof.

So I just hit 60 on my first team, I have more noob moments than I care to list, but the best few are:

- Having click to move on my priest and spamming IWT to get my hunters to attack, in the meantime the bug with IWT kicks in and my priest (who happens to be conveniently pointed towards the instance portal) zones out and leaves the rest of my group to fend for themselves.

- Also forgetting to do the quest for Pet Training/Revive Pet back at level 10 and not realizing it until I'm halfway through Ramparts and all my pets die on a double pull.

There is a quest somewhere in dragonblight where you have to let a worm (i think) hit a char until he's poisoned, scrape the poison off, and repeat until each char has x poison thingies. As my healer is a priest, the natural thing was to put a shield on the toon that was being beaten to death - to avoid healer aggro. Strangely whenever my mage started doing this, a (seemingly) random WoW window would close down. I was going mad trying to figure it out, until i occured to me tha alt-F4 might not be the right choise for shielding my mage (had slave healing on F1-F4, with lots of key modifiers).:p

I forgot one of my toons was logged into its bank character. I was doing an elite quest on 4 other characters while the other sat in Org.

I then spammed the shit out of trade chat with:
"Looking for mining Contracts. Will buy all herbs/ore for xx a stack you can send me. For further details pst or send a in game mail to xx".

About 400000 times and my account got auto banned from talking in any chat channels for 3 days.

I never got any new contracts either hahaha.

Ive done he one where your editing macros (back in TBC days when macros where king) and I had my clones all /say the macro in the middle of the city.

Back when I played 4 Shadowpriests + Pally in TBC I accidental left Inner Focus on standing at the bank. I came back to my keyboard to have a million angry tells because it makes this persistent annoying noise - forever. Needles to say after figuring that out I might have done it 'accidnetly' a few more times for shits and giggles.

i did the opposite >.<

i knew (from previous experience) that the followers would jump early, so i watched them and made them jump at the right moment.
However i had forgotten about the master (on other screen/machine) who was on autorun and she plummeted to her (near) death while i was jumping the others.

The followers landed nicely where i wanted, then promptly did a 180 degrees turn and ran in the gap. 2 died.
My own stupidity makes me laugh sometimes. I guess/hope that'sa good thing >.<

My noob moment:
I see a mining vein on my radar. I break follow and swoop down with my main to get the node. I click off the mount debuff, gather the vein, then click keyboard-bind to mount-up. My followers promptly dismount due to the shared macro and plument to their deaths.

Happened to me quite some times:

In Tirisfal glades you have a quest from a mob in UC that requires you to walk to the lake in tirisfal glade, back to UC, back to the lake etc. You get an item to give to the NPC in UC from the npc at the lake. So i run my 4 new warlocks to UC, to find out that the bags were full one 1 and she didn't accept the quest. Ran back again to the lake and back to UC to get it completed. whoho >.<

I was trying to catch up to the raid while doing "for the horde" leaving to take the boat from the back of Stormwind. Everyone else was on the boat, I was behind because one of my 4 shamans got dismounted, so now I was hoofing it ghost wolf style. I got to the boat just as it started to pull away. I made it, watching my followers screens on my 2nd screen make by only inches... not realizing I should have probably let go of W and ran the front shaman right off the other side of the boat. The 3 others soon followed. Then the rest of the raid group (all strangers) had a great chuckle about the "noob boxxor" and how bad i was. I was so happy I was going to make it. Then snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

last week, on my way to my regular Zul'Gurub run, I notice as I land in Grom Gol that it is just 10 minutes before 6AM.
I'm bad at pvp (i mean really bad) but thought, oh well, it's early there might be no one there and head to the Gurubashi Arena for a chance at the achievement.
I arrive there with plenty of time, and there's no one there yet, i get behind a wall (near the goblin) and start buffing my toons.
out of nowhere pops a troll rogue, and he says 'lol, this should be interesting'.
i just reply, 'i don't know, i suck at pvp' but he's already gone in stealth. I just had time to see that he had a GS of ~5800.
My toons are all around ~4500 GS.

I gulp with difficulty and wait for the long walk of the goblin to the chest.
I run down towards where the chest will be and my main (the tank with 37khp) gets sapped. I freak out and start spamming my aoe key but nothing happens.
after a few seconds i realize i still have keymaps off, since i responded to the guy.
I quickly reactivate, and drop some totems (including magma).
i get resapped, and then my tank gets dismantled. Why the heck he was attacking my highesst armored toon when the priest has not even half the hp and is in cloth, is a mistery to me, but in any case a tick of magma must have got him and the rogue got popped out of stealth, RIGHT IN FRONT of my 5 toons.

I SPAM everything i got Fire elem, starfall, mirror image and start dps, as he runs AWAY from me, still perfectly in front.
poor chap gets hit by a FS+instant LvBurst, 3 frostbolts and 1 massive arcane blast crit, and a starfire crit in the 3 seconds that follow and dies probably as much to his surprise as to mine.
i really thought he had vanished or something until i saw the body on the ground. It felt really quick.

i finaly remember to grab the content of the chest while i rez the poor sod with my priest.
I had no intention of killing him again, and i thought he's appreciate if i'd save him the run back.

Unfortunately as soon as he accepts the rez the fire elemental decides he still doesn't like him and blasts him dead again, litterally in the second he accepted the rez. Not sure his screen would have loaded yet.

At this point i'm really laughing to myself, but i send him a whisper to apologise, saying that was not my intention and that i'm sorry for his second death.

To that he replies that i'm a bad, that he at least has skill and doesn't need to pay for 5 toons to get a stupid lowlevel trinket.
I tried to reply but was already ignored, so i went to ZG and continued business as usual :-)

Flying around in Icecrowne and I see a sparkly titanium vein. I swoop in and manage to perch myself on the side of the mountain to mine it before the farmers get to it. Victory. Then when I mount up my good cheer is diminished by slaves raining down from the sky. But only slightly. :)

Turning on Mouse and keyboard broadcasing to create new characters and realising that they aren't all looking identical so you delete and type delete, only to find that one of your deletes deleted something it shouldn;t!
