How long does it take to get your account restored after being hijacked? I'm sitting at the fourth day and I was told that four days is what it would take. Anyone go through this experience and have some input?

I am just taking data, not trying to do harm. Did you have an authenticator? If not, why not? Again, not attacking, just asking. And just curious, did they get all your accounts or just 1?

When I lost my accounts back in BC I got everything back in 2 days. I was lucky heh.

It took them 13 days to do the first restore which was really sucky, then an additonal 4 days of petitions and finally 4 hours online with a GM to get back most of what I lost. I did not get everything, about 150 frost badges on one account were not restored due to :"their logs had an issue and they cannot prove I had them" total BS for me :( . It was a very painful process although others had better experiences.
Did they move any toons off your server? Those were the most completed restores due to the fact that blizz does a rollback on those toons. The rest of the toons will be individually reasearched to see what was taken.
Best of luck with this and I hope you have a smoother ride than I did.

Took over two weeks for my friend to get all his stuff back. He got duped by a dodgy copy of wow armoury.

Buddy of mine called Blizzard about 20 minutes after noticing the authenticator prompt (he didn't have one) and I reported him in-game while watching his toon mine the herbs underground. He got his chars back the next day and our banks were restored about a day or two after that.

I did not have an authenticator, because I consider my web activity safe. I don't read email that I dont recognize, even emails from blizzard go straight to trash. The only wow site I visit are this one, wowhead and mmo-champion. I think I got it from the flash vulnerability when mmo-champion got hacked. I didn't hear about it until it was probably too late. I now use noscript with firefox

If it helps Multibocks, I got hacked last Sunday, and they hit 2 accounts really hard before we could stop them.
Te GM told me today, that There is a cue of about 6 days, So I'm half way there. I figure based on that, you would have another 2-3 days man.
I do wish they would get more authenticators up for sale. I have too many damn accounts to worry about.

I was hacked and found out right when it was happening because I logged out to eat lunch, came back 30 minutes later and all my passwords had been changed. Luckily for me it was during the day and I got on the phone with Blizzard immediately (30 minutes on hold first). They quickly changed my pw for all my accounts, had me get an authenticator, and I was able to log back in that day. I also started a new email account that I only use for WoW related stuff.
The thing is, I had 4 accounts that in the duration that I was dealing with all of this, roughly 90 minutes, they stripped all 4 accounts. It helped I had an exact time window for the thefts so they could look at logs and find what all was taken. Took about 1 month total to get all my stuff back including the gold. I just quested naked until they were able to restore all my stuff.
It sucks to get hacked. I suggest getting the authenticator, it's cheap and lasts 3-5 years (battery life) and really does protect you.

I just downloaded the app for the Iphone and added it to my account the day I got it back. Not that it's protecting much anymore..

I find it disturbing that the hackers are USING authenticators to lock ppl out of their own accounts. Seems like there should be a way to prove u own the acct before adding an auchenticator...
I just wish that I didnt have to wait 3 minutes every time i want to log in while i wait for fresh auth codes.... It was so much less of a chore before the whole battle.net BS....

Still beats getting hacked.
Hackers love the accounts that do not have an authenticator yet since they can put one on to make it take longer to recover the account.

I recovered the account pretty fast even with authenticator. GM removed it immediately when he reset pw after asking if I had control of my email account again. It's one more step, but not hard for GMs to remove. They should have to answer the secret question to add it though...

Well I got one account restored today. I dont understand how they can't see that there are 5 active accounts on my battlenet id. Do they really think that hackers would only log in one account?

What I had to do was list all the accounts and the main toons that were affected :(
