60 AV yesterday

Well I got my new server horde toons to 60 yesterday and was going to play in some AV for a bit before i started my next set.

To my surprise I was rudely welcomed by a premade of Vanilla players that ate my lunch.

Paladin, Mage, Shadow priest, Hunter and another. A full group of people that just play classic vanilla and lurk the battle grounds.

After armorying their guild.... i was like... yeah no wonder i'm melting lol.

Mage had 900 spell power at lvl 60. Ret Pally had like 9k health and so forth.

I think I might just skip that Level of AV cause I think they saw blood in the water when they saw a multiboxer join.

I'd say it's even worse in the 61-70 bracket. There seems to be a ton of people who never upgraded their account to WotLK and dominate AV during the AV holidays. Mix that in with leveling toons that go to Northrend at 68 and get massive gear upgrades, and you get some nice and frustrating times. I think the 71-79 AV is the most balanced for newer players, though at 80 you're going to run into geared toons again (hopefully you've saved up some honor and bought gear while leveling to 80).

Just retry in a day or so, there's a good chance you just had bad luck. They can't be online 24/7. (or can they?!?!)

60 and 70 are really bad. In the 61-70 bracket, there are level 70's that have more hitpoints than many people have at 80.

I decided to try out lvl 70 twinkage myself, seeing as how i can run some of the lvl 70 content myself on my 80s, i made 4 more accts and am 65 on 4 new shaman. Gonna try and farm Kara and Magtheridon as often as I can, to get the T4 tokens to buy PvP set gear. (already got one chest off of mag) Ill farm honor on AV weekend, and get a full lvl 70 pvp set, with wrath gems/enchants and ill show those other twinks whats up :)

60 and 70 AV twinking is about all there is left in the twink world outside of specific battlegroups, that have enough people twinking the lower brackets for the que to actually pop... IMO they either need to get rid of separate twink brackets, or put the 60, 70 (and soon to be 80) expansion capped twinks in the regular twink bracket.

I don't mind the upper level twinks. When you have enough spells and abilities you can outskill most of them, as long as you have at least blues of your level. I hate lower level twinks with a passion, and felt it ruined the game for many people.

there are people who pay blizzard to stop their characters from leveling higher so they can twink out at a level.
Bliz supports this by offering the service in the first place.

They changed it back to allow account capped toons back into the leveling battlegrounds. But really, there is no justification for it other than griefing.

Let's see, challenge? Nope, not enough "Twinks to fight other Twinks" so that isn it.
Skill? Nah, keyboard turning 1 button spam will probably be enough. (Seen a keyboard turning Sunwell geared Ret pin half a horde raid in SH gy.)

But let's see (in general not at anyone specific):
-level capped (intentionally not upgrading) to Multibox 4 Twinked (PvP geared) Shaman in a battleground swarming with levelers in greens and blues. I like AE grinding grey mobs too.

Blizzard allows it but let's be honest, it is what it is. It's griefing levelers no matter how it's justified. It's no different than the Twinks in the othjer battlegrounds that got put in their own grounds.

I rarely PvP so whatever, but I've seen it enough to see how sadistic it is. But hey, I can keep an open mind......so tell me, what is the purpose to account capping to 60 or 70, stacking w/ raid or old Arena gear on a multibox PvP team, going into AV and grinding on levelers? For what? What do you get out of it?

He was probably referring to me, as I said I planned to twink 4 shamans, but im going to do it at 70. Sure there's a little part in me that wants to just stomp people into the ground, its more fun when you are winning. I'm not doing it specifically to be a dick, more of a way to get back at the people who did it to me last time. Boxing is very similar to twinking, in the aspect that you are giving yourself an edge. I'm not going to go completely nuts, and get top end gear farmed on all 4 of em, but maxed PvP honor gear, and as much other lvl 70 epics as I can get.

It may be taking it a bit far, but during my AV leveling process, the 61-70 bracket is FILLED with horde 70 twinks, and it was by far the slowest portion of the leveling process due to that. My goal is to simply even the factions out a bit in the bracket. If the amount of horde tinks goes down as a result, my job will be complete. I know I'll probably end up buying wrath on the 4 accts eventually just to 10 box at 80....

Using the NPCs in the cities to stop lvling is not an option, those BGs never pop, just we all just bought new accounts and don't upgrade them. And by the by, 1v1 battles against other twinks are awesome.

Nope, not enough "Twinks to fight other Twinks" so that isn it." - Actually, there are quite a few twinks out there. it's also a good change of pvp, same classes, but relying on different skills. Also, taking on more than 1 person at once even while twinked can be difficult. I don't use any OL gear and lvl 58-60 horde have gear that nearly equals me.

Also, you are forgetting WSG and AB are 60-69, I play those games too, it is a challenge to beat a lvl 67+ while being only lvl 60.

people will always have a different opinion on twinking. But imo I'd rather meet a twink at 60 or 70 then full 4 wrathfull shaman at 80.

I did some slight twinking on 4 60 shaman, just ran them through ramps and got them in full outland gear asap to farm AV. Mad fun, best pvp experiences were in 60 AV really. oneshotting 3 people at once with 4 CL's. It can be an inmensly powerful tool.

Yep, I have a 60 warrior twink myself with 14.9K hp unbuffed ;P

--17 +30 sta gems in socket gear that I got during BC Trial
--(2) +85 Sta Trinkets because of gnome +engi racial
--375 mining / skinning for extra sta/crit

I love playing my twink ;P But I do feel bad for the people lvling sometimes, fun to fight other twinks though. I love lvl 60 pvp.

But yeah, it is even worse at 70 with all the people in full merc/veng/brutals, much much worse.

Bloodlust battlegroup there are a LOT of 60 twinks, both sides. It's actually starting to increase and getting quite fun. I've started boxing 5 shadow priest twinks (only one has any good gear, the rest are in like 2 epics and starting zone gear lol).

But I don't stoop to getting BC and WotLK trials to stam gem myself. Not only do I not respect it (gemadins on alliance are bads, you can't get that gear/gems again after the trial runs out, etc), it's really just gemming up to outlast the enemy. Glass cannons are fun to play (when solo) and you have to rely on skill to keep yourself alive, even when you hit so hard.

I actually prefer solo twink play on my hunter or disc priest healer, I made the 5 spriests as a way to kill the horde twinks who used the trials to gem themselves. That's all I target, rest of the time I just sit in the towers one by one til they burn (that way the lvlers get their xp). If horde go for our bunkers I don't back cap while boxing, only while solo.
