Hello all,

I am selling my Intel Skulltrail computer with dual Intel Quad Extreme processors running at 3.6 GHz. I'll be posting up the full specs and pics tomorrow.

I'm in Socal and would prefer to deliver it locally. This thing weighs a TON. It's goddamn heavy.

This desktop was a review unit direct from Intel execs when I was a Senior Editor at Tom's Hardware Guide. They never asked for it back (which was true with 80% of the stuff we tested).

The beast still works great - and is still an insanely powerful machine. It multiboxes six chars without breaking a sweat. Not sure what the ultimate limit would be. When I used an OCZ SSD, I was able to load my five-box Shamans in under ten seconds.

I'm selling it because I don't play WoW any more and I need the money to pay for my upcoming CCIE lab.

Originally, I was thinking about popping it on ebay/craigslist... but figured you guys would get more use out of it than a typical user :)

Ahhh love Evernote - I'd previously recorded the specs there.

Skulltrail System - 2 X Core 2 Quad Extreme

Intel QX9750 processors running at 3.6 GHz each
Huge Zalman fan on each proc. Can probably go to 4.0 GHz if you water cool it.

(Be thankful you don't have to install these fans! I sliced and diced my knuckles several times while screwing in the fans.)

Mobo - Intel D5400XS Skulltrail - 2 esata ports
RAM - 8 GB 800 MHz FB-Dimm with GEIL Ram Cooler
Video - Palit ATI 4870 512 MB Dual Edition - DVI X 2
PSU - Enermax Galaxy 1000 watt

I have to check on the HDs sizes, but I'll most likely throw in a 1TB 7200 drive because I have tons of them lying around.

Pictures and maybe a short video coming up tomorrow

Do you have a price, or are you just taking offers?

I'll decide on that after I post the pics and video. I'm not sure on how much interest there is in a power-sucking frankenstein box. I was hoping Intel would have come out with a "Skulltrail II" by now to eclipse this machine.

I don't doubt this machine could multibox 10 accounts (with going to 16g ram)

Uploading a video now... should be up in a few hours (1080p is kinda overkill for a for sale video, but oh well)

The video is with the machine off. I'll post up part two with the machine on maybe on Monday or Tuesday. I've got my hands full now reviewing the Kindle DX Graphite.

If you guys have any benchmarks for me to run, just ask - whether or not you want the machine because I'm interested in how this stands up to the latest Core i7 and other desktops.

Good luck with the sale, that is a beast of a machine! You are setting it up nicely to have a good amount of hardware.

I just cant decide if this would be preferable over getting an i7. I'm kinda leaning on the i7

IF you're going to post something for sale, Which *is* against the rules without asking permission first, (But I'm not a total hard ass, which is why this thread lasted this long) But post ALL the information. This isn't for a DISCUSSION on something you want to sell when you get around to putting up all the information. Bad business/trading practices.
