I "just" got Diablo. I know, I know. Never played it. So they had the old Battle chest with 1 & 2 & 2 exp. Guess I will give that a whirl. I guess I could look in the never played game pile, I am thinking Baldur's Gate is in there and marrowind series. By then November......sounds good to me

Play Starcraft 2, wait, ... single player game that needs to be always online* ... oh, thats Ubisoft all over again, well, ummm, keep playing WoW until they implement mandatory RealID (I'm okay with it at the moment) or implement WoW in-game advertising. The new Battle.NET Terms of Service with regards to Massive's in game advertising have got my shackles riled. If I have to pay for a subscription and see ads as well, you can bet, I'll be doing neither.

* Don't like this, sometimes I go where there isn't an internet connection and I'd like to be able to play the game I just bought.

I dont know really, I just cant be bothered to log into WoW now. My accounts run out soon, and I doubt I'll resub, not for now atleast.

This "old" Blizzard fanboi isnt a fanboi anymore, thats for sure.....

I don't believe they will be so stupid to continue with this realID. With all the negative press they have 2 choices imo:

- persist with the realID and face a bunch of law suits, eternal QQ from their userbase and face the beginning of the end
- stop this crap and use it to their advantage: 'we listen to our userbase and value their input ... blablabla' and come up with another solution

Gonna keep playing the game as long as I enjoy it, and as long as my account name ain't visible and I can pay for the game with cash/paypal (i.e. buy gamecards anonymously).

That doesn't mean that I'm sitting back and do nothing. I voice my opinion against the realID wherever/whenever I can. Because I believe if blizzard succeeds it's the beginning of a new era and many more companies/websites copy it. It will change the way we use the internet.

That is the part that actually bothers me the most. It's going to get tougher and tougher to play games without being forced to connect to company servers, and it isn't just Blizzard. A lot of console games will automatically connect to company servers instead of asking you if you want to connect. Which means that there might be a time when most games won't work at all if you can't connect to the internet. Bleh.

Same thing I was doing before it... Having fun :)

Though, depending on when Civ 5 and Cata come out, it's going to be hard to figure out what to play.

I've cancelled all my WoW accounts, and I have no intention of ever firing them back up after this.

Well, I had 2 fallback games on the horizon if I needed them.

Civilisation 5 and Diablo 3.

With all the changes being made to Cata - backdowns really - and now this complete disregard for customer safety via RealID, I suspect Civ5 may need to be my saviour. I can't imagine I'll buy D3 now (despite having been a long time player of the Diablo series) just because I don't feel poor behaviour should be rewarded.

I suspect I'll stay in WoW up until Cata, unless of course RealID just reaches new heights of stupidity.

If that's going to happen, a few people will stand up and large open source platforms/games will be build. It's a matter of time until companies will see a profit to support such endeavors.

I'm still 5-boxing wow. I'm gonna give things time to settle down before making any significant decisions. I'm having fun today and I'm not convinced that Blizzard is really a front for a dope ring or a false flag operation by the government to sell sensitive data to the Russians to fund the NSA black helicopter program for spying on US citizens and the new BEDBUGS (Baby-Eating Dogs Built Under Government Supervision) program.

I was really excited for Cataclysm. But I'm finding it so hard to be now. The whole RealID leaves such a bad taste in my mouth - I think I've kind of lost my innocence a bit. For me Blizzard was the one last company that wasn't touched by massive publishing houses. I know, I know, selling mounts, acti-blizz merger etc it was all there but I never really wanted to see it and I could avoid it.

RealID just leave it smacked between my house and I feel sad for all the hours and time and faith I've put into their products. I cant turn around this time and go 'its not that big a deal, I see where they are coming form, I'll adapt'.

And it makes me angry because I want to LOVE all the Cataclysm stuff. It sounds like its going to be great, new 1-60, new talents, mastery system etc etc - all stuff that would've got me hooked all over again.

Suddenly feeling horrible burnt out and a bit lost as to what to do with myself - I guess I could finish RDR or finish fixing up my garage to put a gym in it.

Bleh - fuck you RealID.
