I'm not sure you can assist one of those pets directly. For instance as a hunter I can assist my own pet with /assist [target=pet], or use /assist focus having focused my pet prior to that. (I also use clique to automatically assist the target on ctrl+right click.)
But I think mage pets are different from lock or hunter pets, for instance they don't appear listed in party pets unit frames. So it might be only able to assist from a target or with a focus. Assuming you use the latter it would be something like:
#showtooltip
/assist focus
/cast <spell>
I know for a fact you would be unable to follow the pet, as you can only follow other players of the same faction.
The best bet is to have the pet work as pretty much a free agent, so except for very occasionally you let the pet assist you rather than the other way round.

Okay so I am going to assume (yes I know what they say about making an ass out of you and me) that "frosty" is your mage.
/assist elementall
/cast frostbolt
for the heal: you are not assisting frosty, you need to target him.
/target frosty
/cast chain heal
for the third example do a /castsequence
/assist elementall
/castsequence <spell 1>, <spell 2>, ect.
really your best bet is make the focus of your second toon the first toon though.

as per Lost-Ninja's suggestion
at the beginning of each macro put...
#showtooltip
also choose the ? as the icon for any /use, /cast or /castsequence macros. This will change the icon to reflect the spell (next spell in cast sequence)

For me #showtooltip is generally wasted space. Even without it, the macro will show the correct icon, however when you mouse over it, it will just show the name of the macro and not spell tooltip info. I'm not 100% sure about castsequence, but I know it works fine for cast (ie. if you have an alt-modifier it will change the icon when you hit alt).

I take it you don't use the addon TheoryCraft2 then?
