This game looks boring as shit. And lazy SqareEnix is using the same exact races from FFXI (http://ffxi.stratics.com/content/introduction/welcome/races/) but with different names for FFXIV (http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/#/world/races).
Hyur - Hume
Miqo'te - Mithra
Lalafell - Tarutaru
Elezen - Elvaan
Roegadyn - GalkaI watched the alpha/beta gameplay videos on the first page of YouTube and was completely unimpressed with all of them. I will not be trying this game out unless I see better videos or after release people are raving that it's awesome.
Going to play it for sure but not so sure about boxing it yet, I did dual box ffxi and had alot of fun with it but I remember having to use more than 1 pc and that game was so bad on a keyboard... Still was a great game imo.

At this point I'm just hoping they have follow, assist, and macros.

Fen hit the nail. I watched the E3 2010 trailer and wanted to nap halfway through.
Does it use that PlayOnline Viewer crap? Logging into FFXI was a chore and then the game client left a lot to be desired.

It does NOT use playonline. Thank God.

I'm in the beta, I had to have a playonline account for the beta. I haven't finished the 84 hour download (hate peer to peer when they aren't even seeding) yet to find out anything else.
I'm looking forward to FFxiv. Being able to play every class with one character is a great idea to me. I had fun with FF11. New WoW expansion is just the same content redone so no real appeal and if they stick with their current trend, I'd need to wait a year before everything they announced in the expansions actually goes live.
