I'm not sure how viable this is, since grouped experience is pretty low per-character. But I read about drain tanking for warlocks and tried it out with my level 76 (now 77) warlock, and it's pretty sick. You just run around DOTing everything. That's pretty much it. You stop to loot. Soul Link reduces the damage you take. Corruption/Siphon Life is like a HoT for both you and the pet. Haunt is a larger periodic heal. If you get in over your head, you have a number of tools at your disposal. Drain Life, Howl of Terror, Death Coil... with just a bit of care you can go on indefinitely.
I have four level 26 warlocks that I was PLing some time back and abandoned (well, sort of), and am wondering how a team of 4x or 5x warlocks would do via drain tanking. I'm still leveling my priest + 4 mage team (currently 58) and am having fun PVPing with my hunter and warlock, so I don't think I'll be leveling this group very often or very quickly. But I'm intrigued by the possibility of getting them to 30 and seeing how it works out. They obviously won't have Haunt for a while, but it probably doesn't matter. 4x Corruption and 4x pets should do the job just fine. At 41 they can all spec into Siphon Life and Soul Link. At 71 they can spec into Siphon Life, Soul Link, and Haunt.
Or maybe at that level, Seed of Corruption is the better option for groups of mobs. The nice things about drain tanking, though, is that you don't spend any time rounding up mobs beforehand and you don't have to worry about positioning caster mobs. You just tag them as you go, and if they don't follow it doesn't matter-- they die anyway. I dunno, it just sounds pretty good. I was wondering if there would be any way that a group would be as efficient for quest leveling or mob grinding as the priest/mage group is. I didn't hold out much hope for a group of locks, but now it seems that they may be even more efficient. Time to dust off the pally...
