Periodically one or more of my toons will stop interacting with npcs, spcifically seems to happen when I try and take a taxi. I use ctm/iwt for the slaves but i also have iwt keyed for the main window as well and what i do is run up to an npc target it then have the slaves target my target and iwt. Usually works like a champ but when it doesn't and it happens to the toon I'm leadig with what i see is the flightpath map flash for a split second then go away. Once this happens i can't talk tot he npc at all, the mouse shows the interact icon as active but when i click i get nothing. A "/reload ui' seems to clear things up for a while.

Mysetup:
Windows 7 x64
Phenom Ii x4 3.2Ghz
8GB ram
Nvidia 250 for the main monitor (video set at 1900x1200 for the main screen)
GT9800 for the second monitor
OCZ SSD drive for the OS and wow folder
Isboxer

Is there a permanent fix for this or do I just have to /reload ui? I did notice that the last time it happened I checked task manager cpu usage was 40-45% but memory was in the 70% usage range

Can't promise that this will work for you, but I get the same problem periodically. I've found that if I move that toon about 20 feet away (far enough that it would close the interaction window if it were open) and move back to the NPC, it will reset and allow me to interact.

Interact with an other NPC then the NPC you want to interact with fixes it for me.

I had this problem alot yesterday. Never had it before ever. Slatsc just wouldn't chat to quest givers if he was the 'lead'.

I just manually right clicked the quest guy and just dealt with it, but I'll try moving a good distance away and testing that. I wonder if this is screwing up anyone's melee team not just people using quests/taxi?

This problem seems to randomly happen if I hit IWT again when my guys get close to the NPC. I don't think I've had it happen if I don't do that. Like doing that makes the game think the window *is* open for some reason when it's not, or something. Like Littleburst says, my workaround is to interact with another NPC and then go back, but moving far enough away that the window would normally close should also work.

If you only press IWT once you wont have this problem. only happens when you spam it.

I think i have to disagree. I somewhat hardly use IWT, mainly to talk to NPC's. And i'm pretty convinced i only press it once when i want to interact with a NPC. Only had this problem since this week aswell.

I thought the same same thing but hitting IWT only once will still produce the error for me sometimes. I did turn the graphics down on my main toon and that helps. Running to another vendor and opening a window as suggested works but only for the toon that I have active at the moment not any slaves though. Just running out of range and coming back also as suggested seems to work sometimes but not as regularly as accessing another vendor.

Same thing started happening to me this week. I have a key set to

/reloadui

I hit that and I am able to IWT again.

Are you able to make that work on all toons at once, when I tried the same thing on all 5 at once they all did the reload but it seems random as to which ones it will work on.
