[WoW] How to make 400 gold + an hour the Multi-boxer way

Well I got all my characters epic flying mounts in about 15 days of casually making gold. I thought after I made all this gold, I should tell the rest of my community how to do it ~!

If you 4 or 5 Box, run Steamvaults

I'll break it down on why it is so amazing. There is a somewhat quick path you can take to kill all 3 Bosses in 20-25 minutes meaning if you have enchanting (which you should!) you can disenchant them into 4 Large Prismatic shards which = 27-30 gold a piece (that price had held strong for over a month on my server)
Each run also nets 10-15 Coilfang Armaments which sell really fast at 5-7g a piece.
Each run also includes 10g+ for each character split on the silver looted, 20g~ in white/grey drops and plenty of Greens which disenchant nicely into Arcane Dust and Greater Planar Essences. Also!! there is 2 chests that ALWAYS spawn in the instance and you have a 50% chance of them being unlocked, these chests sometimes have nice blue gems in them :)

So if you run it very fast and grind it out we'll do the math!

4 Large Prismatic Shards @ 30g each = 120 gold
12 Coilfang Armaments @ 6g each = 72 gold
40 gold in coin + 20 gold in vendor trash = 60 gold
= 252 gold a run + Arcane Dust + Greater Planar Essence = yum yum more gold, so pushing possibly 300 gold a run in 20-25 minutes! (run speed varies :P )

During the Christmas Holiday area, I grinded out 3000 gold in a day. I'm pretty much sick of the instance now though, but I think this is a nice treat for the rest of the community. Enjoy!

This looks pretty good. I have been 70 only a week now, and I can solo most of this just fine. Have you guys tried dailies? I started some of them a while ago, and I'm not sure which ones would be good for quax boxers yet, i have only done some of the skyguard ones? booooring though..

Dailies are zomg easy as a quad/quin boxer up on Blades Edge.

Wrangle Rays - Do it once, it counts for all 4/5.
Simon Says - Do the big game, costs more shards, but you only have to count to 6 instead of 8, and you get to kill the big guy at the end.
Bombing - This is easy, on the ground mount your flying mount, hit bomb key, target and click as soon as you mount then immediately dismount... worst case you get hit with flack, but most often they never shoot.
Banish Demons - Killing is what we do best.

Dailies in Skettis... fly the bombing run and do the escort, both easy peasy.

where should i run then?I'd suggest old world instances (the level 60 ones), I dont think anything in TBC hits soft enough to run 3 mages without a tank/healer. However there are lots of uses for Large Brilliant Shards and they sell for 150g per stack of 20 on my server, which doesn't take long to get at all... also keep in mind that you get runecloth which still sells well.

Hey Ellay! Can you give us more details about the quick path that you use?
Besides taking the right just after the entrance and making the way through the bog lords to avoid the elemental packs, do you use the river to get to the 2nd boss? Any other tip?

Also sounds like a good place to practice multiboxing pve. Lots of mobs that fear/silence, 1st boss requires some movement to avoid the storms (for those who use a dedicated tank), adds on 2nd and target swapping on last boss. Can't wait to try it myself :)

Obviously you do Dailies as well... With the limit being raised to 25 Dailies per character, you'll be able to make a highly impressive amount of gold in very short spaces of time soon :-)

Yeh the old school lvl 60 instances would be a good place for your mage's to go. Illusion dust also sells for 50-80 gold per stack on my server, so be sure to shard any greens u find :)

Well... i just realized if you are running 3 or more of a single character, you should be killing mobs with 1 spell in outland... so there is really no reason any multiboxer is making under 1k gold a day

3-4 x 25 dailies (11 gold each) = 275 per character = 825-1100
1-2 hours of farming mobs in instances or outland = 300-600

totaling 1125-1700 gold in approximatly 3 hours.

7875-11900 gold per week if you play for just that.

3-4x25 dailies is not correct, you can only currently do 10 at the moment and some of them are insanely time consuming or hit and miss. The Sketti's quest itself has taken me more than 30 minutes sometimes to complete just trying to find the escort guy in prime time.

25 dailies? Are there 25 dailies even available? I remember back when the limit was 10 dailies and there wasn't even 10 daily quests unless you already had an epic flying mount.

it's faster just to farm items than to do dailies imo.

there are areas i have in mind for running with my 3 mage team that i should be able to produce in the upper 500-600 gold an hour range.

instances can be good, but i mean... how many brilliants would be gotten? i play illidan and they only sell for 5 gold each... so if only like 7 drop it's not worth my time.

I used to run live strat pre TBC, you can get about 10 shards every 15 minutes. It was a very nice money maker.

25 dailies doesn't do you any good... counting on doing 10 dailies a day doesn't make sense unless you have an absurd amount of time on your hands anyhow... I can finish Blades Edge + Skettis @ 6am CST in about 45-50 minutes, thats 6 quests. Daily non-heroic, say your good and can do that in 1 hour, daily heroic, I'd be suprised if you could do it in another hour... thats 8, and you've burned 3 hours.

If you are horde and the daily PVP is AV your screwed for 2 hours, IF you can get all 5 into the same instance anyhow...

I believe there are 18 daily quests anyone can do, assuming you have them unlocked. +1 for Cooking daily and +1 if you have any of mining/skinning/herbalism. It would take an awful long time to do these with 5 characters every day.

Most of them will be here to let players help building and reinforcing the expedition camp built by the new Shattered Sun Offensive (SSO) faction, improving it over time. dailies are soo fucken boaring, i like the idea of farming instances. In SV after you kill the first boss you jump in the water and swim until u find a little inlet in the cave. You can skip a few 5-10mins doing it. I think thats the way to go i havnt done SV in quite some time

Additionally, as people are talking about the dailies (and me being a complete noob with them) - I've never ever done a single daily quest, never had the need to grind money on my mains up till now as I've always had plenty. However now I'm on a fairly newish server and have no hordes of gold I'm going to be starting them when I hit 70.

Does anyone have any good websites with all the daily quests / what they involve / where to get them (do them) and additionally which are fast / slow to do. I realise this is a big question but I would love anyone who could answer it lots :D .

so if you are farming instances for DEing why wouldnt you already have all the mats you need? :)

There is also the hellfire daily pvp quest, giving you 250rep with honor hold/thrallmar and 3 tokens. I forget how much gold you get though, if any.



With only a few exceptions (certain dailys) I dont see it being a worthwhile task to spend time on instead of running instances unless you get tired of them and want a change of pace. Its going to take me a bit to get a normal flying mount anyways but I can definately see it happening rather easily. (heck I made 130g just from vendoring crap and questing getting my druid from 67.0-68.25 last night) flight form is fun!

Buy some SSC/BT recipes & crafted BoEs. You can depending on your server even buy SSC / BT drops off guilds who have them on farm status.

after doing a bit of research with my lock (soloing stuff that a multi boxer could do 3-5x faster) most places in outland that give rep items can give 100 gold an hour on a slow killing lock. (3 monsters per minuet)

Granted with 5x chars you can put up a very mean fight against any one ganker but going against 2-3 people in S2-3 and you are likley done for. Which is why I love instances, no competition for kills or drops and no having to corpse run from ganks (just bad pulls lol)

Apart from gems and enchants (which may be easier to farm for as multiboxier), more gold means its just that much easier to level up your next set of five :)

2.) If you ran it with just 4xShammies by yourself, at what gear level do you think this is going to be possible? (i.e. does it require full suits of Vengeful/Vindicator's/etc or can a Freshly Minted team of L70s in dungeon blues and quest rewards pull it off?)

3.) Again, if 4xShammies were possible, any insight into the general kill strategy? Stoneclaws + Go All Out on 1? Did you need to Earthbind + Retreat at all?

Sorry for the delayed response~

It may be totally doable with just 4 as a fresh 70, I'd say give it a shot :) and if not you'll know about how much more you need to gear up.

Since my gear is pretty good, I just throw lightning bolts and tank it without worrying about dying. You can handle any trash utilizing the earthbind and retreat method though.

As for the bosses the first one, she has 2 adds which have low hp and can be taken out very quickly - the earth elementals can tank her forever since she does nature damage spells and your pets are immune to it. Just make sure to run away from the lightning storms.
Second boss is a burn fest and for me he usually dies within 15 seconds or so. Pop the Fire Elementals and just go to town. May need to chain heal once or twice starting out but his HP is very low and the Fire Ele's destroy the adds, especially if you rotate Chain Lightning in your damage.
Last Boss is a tank and spank. 4 Earth Elementals are able to stay alive for a very long time since his damage is pretty low against them. Has about 120k hp.

those starting instances are really easy at 70. just tanked UB at 69 on my druid, I was all worried thinking it would be hard or something and it was just laughable how easy those places are when you have far outleveled them. 4 fresh 70 shamans shouldnt have too much trouble with SP unless your gear is really crappy or something but if you have been running instances through your 60+ career you should be fine IMO

As a side note, I've not been able to clear Steam Vaults on my 5 box (Priest x 2 (Holy & Shadow), Mage x 2, Paladin) however my gear level isn't anywhere near solid yet on any but the paladin...

I have however been able to clear all the trash (and I mean all) without any problems at all. I'm close on both the first and second boss and once I get them I don't see a problem with the 3rd...

Why would I clear all the trash? The Coilfang Armaments, on Blackhand they sell for 13-18g each and in 1 clear (30-45 minutes) I pick up about 10-15 of them. On top of the chests that are sometimes open, the normal coin drop, etc etc... I made bank. Can't wait until I can get a few more gear upgrades on my mages and start tearing apart the bosses too!

I tried with my 4 shaman after just hitting 70 and it didn't go so well... Might have just been me but the 4 pulls kind of sucked. My gear is definitely bad and 7k hp doesn't seem to hold up for too long. I got to the first boss but I didn't seem to have the damage to get her down. I will try again sometime but perhaps when I fix things so I can use my 70 pally as a tank.

My gear isn't that great as long as you are on top of your game it's really not that hard. With heroism this should be beyond trivial.

Once I figured out how to better avoid the clouds it was pretty easy with 4. My main issue before was that I spent more time running around and healing myself because I kept getting hit by clouds. I managed to make about 2000g so far but I am not spending a huge amount of time doing it.
