So when I put my Keyclone into Mute I get really bad lag. I understand why it does it but I dont like it. :) Also when I am logging my 5 accounts I get really bad lag. However when you turn off keyclone during these processes lag is gone. I understand why it lags and its such a minor issue its almost not worth addressing, but I would imagine if I am having this issue on my system other people with other systems could benefit from this action.

So I turn on Keyclone.
Load up all 5 accounts in Keyclone.
Turn off Keyclone.
Load all 5 accounts of Wow, log into game.
Turn Keyclone back on and you have your game set up in half the time.

Now the Mute lag issue although I havent found a real good way to get around this YET, a solution is get rid of the need altogether. I assume you can put as many keys as you want in the file to not be shared. Just put qwert-m,./ into the directory and you have no reason to mute. Now this is also to assume you dont use WASD or any other shared keys to move your tunes around. This is just a noobs idea  to get around some of the lesser attractive features of this awesome software.

Try turning off the "mute" overlay, it's in options...

Well there are still some uses for Mute. Some times you may want to keep toons that are logged on but out of the fight. Maybe a Los Pull and you have your toons on the other side but still needing to keep them away. I guess if I remacroed alttle targeting or firing can be avoided. I dont want to get rid of mute 100% yet but I know for sure I don't want to have to use it for typing

No, I dont mean disable the feature... just disable the overlay that puts the words on the screen when you press Pause. That's what kills framerate for me.

oh now that I didnt know you could do. Yes thats what does it for my Frame rate. Good call

thanks stabface... right on target

yes... the 'mute' overlay constantly re-paints as the game window constantly erases it

turning it off will reduce the lag for sure. you should still have the audio reminder (which i prefer)

Nice, this will help a lot on my 5 box instance team when 5 accounts on my box are running lol.

Welcome guys, glad to help out. I just discovered this a couple days ago and meant to PM keyclone about it but hadn't gotten around to it yet :)

I don't play with sound, I have the keyclone window visible and I don't really like the flashing "Mute" so it'd be great if it just turned bright pink when overide is on - Something that stands out.

I know it's probably just me wanting this but it doesn't hurt to ask :D

Hmm maybe could change the systray icon. Or maybe just look into the overlay code I think it must not be very efficient. I know there's some apps like Teamspeak overlay that don't kill framerate.

Or look into how the in-game video player mods work they basically make a box in the UI a certain color and the tv tuner or video player overlay will show through.

problem is, i'm not in-game... so i don't have the same permissions. i was trying for the mute look you'd see on TVs, but the transparent windows don't work as advertised... and you end up having the text just get removed unless you constantly paint it.

as for performance... i didn't think a single word being drawn on the screens would cause that must overhead. (although i think it's drawing it 40 times per second).

as for changign a color or a try icon.. what about those people using maximizer? that don't see the tray nor do they see the frame (no color)

if anyone has a better solution, i'm all ears

Look at this mod for some ideas on the overlay thing I mentioned. Or google around for how these things work (sets a specific RGB value which overlay-mode software to draw through, somehow). I used to use a similar mod so I could watch TV while raiding. Hard to 5 box and still have time to watch TV if you're pushing yourself though :)

It would require a WoW UI mod for it to work and it would be a bit tricky to sort out positions and such with multi-client maximizer setup, but it would fix the framerate problem 100%. Not sure how hard something like this is to code though.

As a more varied one, is it possible just to have an always on top window about 100 * 50 px or something which we can drag around and it just goes green / red or something along those lines. I don't know about most people but I don't need the mute to be on every window, one place is plenty.
