The wizard gets a functional interface in under a minute, if you know what to click.
It should easily be under 10 minutes as a first time user, probably under 5 mins.

Configuration to exactly what you want...
Well that will take a lot longer, as it is very flexible and has options for almost anything I could want in warcraft.

I really don't want to program software to play WoW. That was bad part of HKN and great part of IS. Run the wizard and play. Sure you won't be a 2200 rated Arena player that way but it WORKS

Well since I already had a very complicated set-up for my shaman team in keyclone, I knew what I wanted to accomplish, and it did take the better part of a weekend to accomplish (in keyclone) and was tedious as hell, and would take equally as long to re-create in keyclone for a future team.

The very small amount of keys that are set-up for a first time user are really only good for a player who's playing new characters and doesn't have many expectations yet for performance of a set-up.

When you have progressed the wizard stage, that is when Ualaa's guide comes in. This piece of greatness will tell you how to do most of things that IS can do and then some. Beyond that, the IRC and the Boxer forums are treasure of tips and tricks.
