I meant to do this earlier this week but dunno if you guys remember 2 years ago (minus a couple days)

This was posted on YouTube and is probably responsible for why most of the people multi-boxing today started:

This was one of the videos I watched that made me want to make four shamans.

Same here...except the vid I saw was him taking down H MgT before the nerf.
Lol, I figured I could create a team to farm badges....so I could be able to gear out a pally i had.
At the time, I nvr realized how bad ass this comp can be.

You sure the HMgt was Ellay? I thought that was someone that ran a 5 shaman team. Granted, I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I know the video you are referring to.

Here is the Veronika H Mg T video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8uLUBEPB-U) I am thinking of.

Andby no means am I trying to say Ellay didn't have a huge imapact. I love the bastard, but just wanted to make sure Veronika got the love deserved as well.

The video's by the Moo's got me into multiboxing. 'Who let the cows out!' lol

I feel ignorant for not knowing Ellay but a hats off to anyone who was an early icon that got people into this sport! :D From his vids looks like I missed something special.

The YouTube comments on that video are pathetic.
The funniest one is the kid saying that the accounts would just be sold for $500 each. Or maybe the guy raging for a whole paragraph who ends with "why do i give a fuck who you are?"

Do these people slam themselves in the face with a hammer before they post? Ah well, not much difference than the rage Ellay used to get on the WOW forums. There were some severely angry arena heroes who hated his guts, heh.

Meeting a multiboxer at random on another server while my own server was down, followed by this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cz3HaGzIg34
was what first got me into boxing, combined with various Ellay stuff since the boxer I met sent me to this site.

I actually inspired 3 boxers on illidan when i first made my 5 shaman, which were the result of being bored with 3 mages and a priest. Pretty proud of that.

I had no one to inspire me....

This might be the first SS of multiboxing ever, not sure though.

I'd also like to give a shout out to both Ellay and Xzin. Many might not remember Xzin, but he also poured a lot of effort into this community and promoted it quite well :)

I miss Xzin and Rob (Keyclone).
And seeing more of Ellay for that matter, no matter what he is doing. It would be fun to watch.

I boxed Everquest, in the traditional sense.
Five computers, each with a keyboard and mouse.
Two massive desks, in a rough L shape.

In warcraft, started with two accounts, and two boxes.
But unlike EQ, it was quite possible to play solo, which I did - basically filling two accounts.
A couple of years later, basically was ready to quit.

Then I see some of Ellay's movies and grab as many as I can find.
Which leads me to this site.

A bit of research and I pick up Keyclone and a third account.
Two days later, and massively interested in the game again...
Pick up two more accounts, making it five.
RAF on four of them, with assorted boosters - no tanks to speak of.

A year later, having read and re-read Zanthor's post - Zero to Hero about 25 times...
I try out IS Boxer, immediately messing with the configuration options to get my perfect set up.
And of course breaking a lot of things along the way.
A lot of patience on Lax's part, and its working as I'd like.

Would have quit a little over two years ago, except Ellay provided motivation to stick around.
And really want to thank both Rob (Keyclone) and Lax (IS Boxer) for great products.

I did the 6 boxing in EQ as well before Sullon Zek was released sorry Sam. The guy who got me into multi-boxing was Falkonn on Vallon Zek. My experience is almost identical to Uaala I started with a rogue and a druid for stealth farming back pre-bc. Then i expanded to my own pve 5man during BC nothing fancy alt tabing etc just to do instances. Then I saw Xbox videos clearing heroics with just shamans that made me start to browse Youtube. Then I ran across Ellay's first pvp video not the one listed in this thread, but his first arena video when he hit 2k. That's when I got Keyclone and came over here and ditched the alt tab boxing days!

No mention of Prepared in this thread? FWIW, I'm thankful to Ellay for setting up this community, Rob even though I've never used Keyclone it seems like it was a significant step in broadcasting software development for multiboxing, Freddy for making a powerful free product with great support, and Lax for developing the current best in class product making my life and other multiboxer's lives more enjoyable with our hobby.

Well rats .... looks like Falkonn is playing AoC as of 2008, after doing EQ1 before me. And it does loook like he was six boxing (at least from his characters).

I think I was the first to control all toons from one keybaord though, but maybe not.

Ya its so odd that Prepared, who might be the strongest of us all, never hardly posts about stratagy, set up or anything .... I'm kinda sure he also moved to IsBoxer but to what extent?

Oh well back to IsBoxer programing lol will it ever finish.

Funny though talking about the old times, seems wow boxing has a shelf life.

I think it was an article about Prepared which got me into multiboxing.

I would never have been able to multibox without everyones help here on these forums. You guys are doing an awesome job.

And thanks to Ellay for keeping the site running and contribuating to the community.

Ohh and ever since I saw Xzin's vids I have alwasy wanted to tryout the priest+4xmages.

I got the bug in-game. I was on a low level horde toon, probably a druid, in the Barrens. I see this guy with 3-4 toons all following and simacasting the mobs that I could barely kill 1 at a time. He helped me blow up several camps of mobs and got me a couple quests finished. This was on Azglalor couple years ago now. He was playing mages.

I had dual-boxed in Everquest and WoW the "old fashioned" way. Two computers, two keyboards, two mice. I had found this site and read up on hardware multiboxing and decided that it wasn't worth the time and effort for me, I would just continue to dual box.

It was Keyclone that changed things for me, particularly when I understood that I could still use my two computers but control the action from a single keyboard and mouse for two, three... FIVE characters! I was multiboxing before, but this was something totally new and a heck of a lot more fun. The videos from Ellay and Vyndree were great, but having someone put that kind of capability in my hands without having to build and wire up five systems was priceless.
