I have had more fun two boxing recently, because its enabled me to instance/raid grind with my children. Boxing has enabled my kids and I to keep the instance grind "all in the family." We spend several hours every night farming heroics for badges and gear. I have four kids (22, 20, 18, 15), and three play WoW (22,20,15). My only daughter thinks were bonkers for liking this game. We all have multiple 80's and we take turns in the different roles (tank, dps, heals). By far our best combination is Pally, Rouge, Lock, Mage, Shammy. I box the lock and the mage in that combo. That combo has all heroic instances on farm, though Oculus and ToC are a bit difficult for me to manage the mounted combat. Over the weekend, we had Battered Hilt drop twice. For a bunch of toons that are sub 4.7K gear score, that's a welcome upgrade.

Speaking of gear score.... We've really found it hard to get into pug raids with our low gear scores. So we have to start our own pug raids most of the time. Obviously you can't walk into a raid in greens and expect to live or do any dps at all. However, I watched my son post a top five dps in 25 man VoA, and get top damage and dps in 25 man Ony after dying 3/4 of the way through due to poor healing. He's a rouge and his gear score is 4.6K His overall Ony dps ended up @ +8K. I've done heroic Halls of Reflection with him, and watched his dps spike and maintain for several seconds at 17K on trash. Last night we destroyed Heroic FoS with only one person above 5K gs. The rest of us are/were sub 4.7K.
I do realize that for most people, having a decent gear score is a good idea. However, in this case, there were plenty of 5.5K+ gs toons in both raids (melee and ranged), and he out dps'd/damaged them by a lot. My son was never really that interested in PvE until recently. He spent most of his time doing arenas. He has died a lot... wiped us a lot by trying new things. At times this is frustrating for the rest of us, but he's become good by experimenting with his class and not being afraid to take risks. In the end, this actually benefits us all. I've tried to play rouge... blehkkk. My hat goes off to him. So does gear score matter? I think the answer to that depends on who's between the keyboard and the chair.
Anyway... I have a ton of respect for those of you that are five boxing these instances, and 10 boxing the raids. I can't wrap my head around the fear mangement in Halls of Reflection alone. That is such a pain in the ass when one toon goes one way and one goes another. I couldn't imagine having to collect up all five.... Not forgetting to mention the mounted combat phases in ToC and Oculus. I hate to see the splash screen for those instances.
Thanks again goes to all those folks who put in the hard work to make this game fun for me.
