Hi guys,
Let me introduce myself first.

I'm michael, 19 years old and from the netherlands.
Finishing raf time to get loads of teams to 60.

Recently installed jamba and loved the interact part, questing became so much easier!
Druids hitting 61 in no time.

Now to get to my question,
I'm upgrading..buying a new computer / laptop.
Currently i'm 3 boxing on a pentium 4 3.2, 3gb memory ( can't handle more ).
It's a simple setup, but my graphics card is good.
This obviously makes me lag every now and then, for example whilest in shatt city and dalaran.

So what are my options?
- Buy a new computer and plug it onto my 24inch screen.
- buy a laptop and plug an extra screen.

laptop would be very usefull as i can take it with me ( i'm away alot ).
But will it hold me back while running 3 wow's.

If i would go with a new computer i will be buying a 2nd screen for my toons. 19inch would be good enough.
Then run my main on the 24 inch screen.

tips and suggestions..maybe some experience with boxing on a laptop?

- Michael.

you could always run 1-2 on your main comp and 2-3 on your laptop.

Important thing to consider with cataclysm around the corner: a laptop is very hard to upgrade hardware wise. That is if the requirements for cata should ask that.

your best bet would probably be to pickup a cheap pc that will run 4 (quad core + 4-6gb Ram)
run the slaves from this machine and your main from your current pc

I'm currently upgrading my setup to run 3 machines main on 1 machine, 2x slaves on their own seperate machines (all quad core 4-8gb ram), with 5x screens
this will give me 60fps everywhere apart from dal, where they run at 40-50

For what you pay for a cheap laptop you could buy a desktop that's 5 times better for the same price. If it's just for boxing then get another desktop. You really don't need a powerhouse to run 5 WOWs. Sure the nicer the better but I get by just fine 5 boxing on my sub par computer.

My PC is rated 5 for the processor and 5.9 for everything else. Intel 2 duo core 2.66 X 2 processors, 1 gig memory card, and 6 gigs of memory.

Get you a PC with as much power as mine or better and you'll do great running all 5 on one machine.

I also run my video maxed out in my main window and all the way down on my slaves.

I did start a team on GB, but i cba lvling them.
On my main server i just had friends boost me to 60.

So i decided to stay on darkspear eu.
Atm i'm considering lvling a paladin team on GB, but again i cba lvling to 60 haha.

I'm going to upgrade my current computer and add a 2nd monitor.
I dont like the 2 computer setup at all.
1computer 2 screens will work,
btw i'm a 3 chars boxer, i hope 1 day i will be 5 boxing.

Get one machine to handle 5 accounts. Use your laptop to solo or 2-3 box while away. If want a portable 5 box setup then get 5 laptops.

I don't consider multiboxing to be a "on the go" sport where you can pick up and leave and setup somewhere without a lot of effort. cheap laptop if you need osmething to use while you are away and a well planned out desktop model

planned in the sense that you can easily do upgrades to it as your requirements grow with your characters lvl's and pvp / pve attempts.

I visualize you sitting in the train, taking up 4+ seats for the laptops. Just sitting there playing them all on 1 laptop. =D
