So my friend called me today as she was in need of some help with here new wow steelseries mouse that she got. She is dualboxing 2 toons with keyclone on windows 7. Heading over and expected that it would work the same as the logitech G11 & G13 tend to work: download/install/fire up the software: click the button and assign a 'key' to it. Not!
It turns out that the software has all sorts of binds like 'assist target, target party1, ...etc' but nowhere in their software i could find a way to map mousebutton 10 to 'p' on the keyboard. Another 2 hours of reading all sorts of reviews, forums, ... i had to admit that i had no clue either.
She only wants to use basic functionality: press a mouse button that sends a key(stroke) to the computer, where keyclone broadcasts it to all accounts. A simple example could be pressing mousebutton 8 that corresponds to her follow macro on her bartender action bar.
Anyone who can put us in the right direction? Apparently it's possible looking at this post (http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?p=217021#post217021) on the boards here.
(nb: get a refund and buy mouse x or y is not a possible solution for her)

this is really REALLY simple
the mouse has a function that allows you to write your own "custom macros" the choices for binding it gives you tie in to the "DEFAULT keybind letters" of the DEFAULT wow settings. this didnt work for me either, it fucked EVERYTHING i had up lol.
Here's what you do:
1. Open the macro thinger on the bottom right
2. Select "New"
3. Create a ONE BUTTON PRESS macro, i use the right half of my numbers since i dont use them with my normal play, ie buttons 6 7 8 9 0 - and = and after you have selected the key, just press it once and let it go, select the "NO delay button" so that it counts as a quick instant press.
4. Click OK to Save the macro and then assign it to a button somewhere on the mouse, then you're done :)

Wait...the WoW mouse has the ability to add delays in the macros? Hilarious :)

Hey Zenga,
Mike from SteelSeries Support here.
Ghonosyph was correct in that the default commands in the WoW mouse software correspond to the default binds in WoW. Your friend will have to create custom macros and assign them to the appropriate command in-game. Here are some detailed instructions:
Open the Button Assignments panel and expand the Custom Macros section. Press New to create a new macro
– the macro creation window will open:
Type in the macro name, click in the macro input area and type in your macro.
When done, press OK and the macro will appear in the Custom Macros list – drag
it over to any key and it’s ready for use.
Here are some advanced details available when creating a macro:
1. Copy & Paste Macros
The copy & paste macro mode allows you specify 3 things:
• The key to start your macro with. This key is press before the content of your
macro is ran. By Default this is set to the Entre key, and can be modified to be
any key, such as slash /
10
• The textbox in the middle is the content of your macro, and will output a single
line of Unicode text with up to 255 characters in length. This box behaves as a
regular textbox, allowing you to copy text from elsewhere and paste it into here.
Since the textbox is Unicode, it will output any special characters or language
placed inside of it.
• Similarly to the start key, the end key functions in the same. This key will be
press to finish or close off your macro, and by Default is set to the Enter key.
Note: Both the start & end keys can be disabled by un-checking the checkboxes beside their
labels. In this event, the macro will only output the text in the content section of the macro.
2. Time Delayed Macros
You can switch between 3 different delay recording modes:
• Text (Auto Delay) - This option is selected by default and is designed to
optimize the delays for proper in-game performance. If you are not sure what
option to use - simply leave this option on.
• Record Delay - When selected, it will record the delays in real time reflecting
your typing speed when creating a macro. This option is useful when you need
precise real-life timing for some advanced macros.
• No Delay - Turns off all delays and simply injects the macro instantly. Note that
while this option can be sometimes useful, World of Warcraft® and other games
normally require some delays added in order for the game to process the macro
as a human-like input. If there are no delays the game or application might not
receive the macro or it may be injected partially, so use this advanced option
with caution
You can loop the macro by enabling the Loop check-box and specifying the
number of repetitions.
Note: Any time during the macro editing you can clear the macro window content by
pressing the Clear button and start typing the macro from the beginning.

If anyone here has any further questions I'd be glad to get them squared away and get you guys rolling. I'd recommend that you check out our support page at: Http://www.steelseries.com/support ; Check the FAQ and submit a support ticket if you do not find an exact answer there!
By the way (on a casual note), I'm a WoW player myself (Prot Warrior - Andorhal - aiuR)... I must say that I'm really impressed by some of the setups and accomplishments that I've seen by you guys. Heck, playing two characters at once is nuts in my book ;)
Best Regards,

Must say that I never read mike's answer until today. Thanks for that if you happen to read this again. Very cool that a Steelseries employee takes the time to answer posts on 'weird' forums.
