it was $1400, no tax. Thing looks so gorgeous it brings a tear to my eye ;') Have to sit back about 6' from the screen though, which the rooms in get in these dorms are all that big ;P I actually just went into the store to buy 2 x 32" for $300 each but they talked me into it. Plus I figured I can just break up this screen into 5 screens and still have more than enough room to spare.

What about some info?
Brand name? Did you care about a brand name?

Resolution? Do you care what it is? And what do you run it at?

Size (how many inches)?

Input? What input do you use and do you care what it can do (VGA might be less than DVI which is equal to HDMI, or diplayport)?

It is pretty though. Do you think you will add more stuff (addons) for more info or will it just spread out the ones you already have?

for 1400$ i'd bet on a 30inch screen with 2560*1600 resolution ;)

bigger screen makes you easily miss things since i guess at least my eyes aren't made to track 30'' constantly ;) but it's great for boxing: i finally switched the window layout from all slave windows on the side to a slightly different approach. main is as the biggest window in the top-left corner and the slaves are 2 below, 2 at the side and the 5th in the bottom right corner :-)

Looks more like a Panasonic Viera TV panel than a 30" monitor, still sweet as, while the resolution will be lower, you cant beat the brightness and colour which makes it an awesome experience.

Nice work!

50" Panasonic Plama TV
1920x1080 resolution
It has just about all the connections you could want but I'm using the HDMI port.
It is very pretty :D but I don't know what you're talking about concerning addons, you talking in-game or addons for the TV itself?
But yea the resolution is awesome at about 6 - 8 feet away. I just lay a board across my lap with my keyboard and mouse on it while reclining back in my chair, super comfy! And 5 boxing on it is very nice.

I'm not sure how that's looking like it's only 30" but to give a little more perspective here is a pic of my old 19" vs my new 50".

Ouch, gaming on a plasma? Are you not afraid of burning the screen?

pff, i don't even want a screen bigger then 22", then you have to move your head to be able to see the whole screen :P

I meant suppose in the past you used 3 addons because there wasn't much room on the screen to see all the stuff. But, not you expand to 15 addons since you have more room for the info.

I have a 2560x1200 that I run at 1680x1050 since it is the same as my other WOWs (seperate computers). I am thinking about upping my resolution since I have the card to run it and wonder if I would just expand everything to still seem big or let stuff shrink when the resolution goes up. In other words, did you enjoy the new emptiness more than having more room to do stuff?

Glad you mentioned this before I settled on buying one myself. Crowd's probably right, won't split screens constant on a plasma burn lines into the picture or mess it up in that since? Or have they come along way since then? Plus, $1400 for a 50" plasma? Might want to checkout newegg.com real quick for better deals, I imagine you'd be able to get your money back and grab one from there way cheaper. Right now they've got this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889187116 on sale for less than $900. Not sure for how long, but there are others cheaper than $1400 at that size. They have deals all the time too, and no tax.

Wow your new picture of your monitor is awesome and really puts the size of it into perspective. I will have to send a picture of my set up.

That's actually greatly exaggerated. First off it's most likely to occur within the first 100 hrs of use if it does occur which you would basically have to be on all day long day after day with the contrast turned way up. I just turned my contrast down andi usually dont play for more than a couple of hours at a time anyways.

In other words, did you enjoy the new emptiness more than having more room to do stuff? O yea I definitely enjoy all the extra screen real estate. I can actually completely zoom out now and my toon still looks big but I can see just so much of the world now. While yea it's not the best resoultion there is available out there. It still looks pretty damn good. If I was really worried about getting the absolute best resolution possible I would of bought a large format monitor.

Plus Newegg.com doesn't deliver to UK. Plus Plasmas are rated to last 100,000 hours which since I'm using the TV to watch lots of TV and movies too, it just seemed like a more logical choice at this time then a large format monitor.

pff, i don't even want a screen bigger then 22", then you have to move your head to be able to see the whole screen :P That's why you sit about 6' - 8' away and you don't have to move your head at all and get to enjoy this enormous image of dragons, and elves, and OMFG MURLOCS!!11!!

O and the cinematics are so freaking awesome plus the in-game cinemas like where Bolvar dies at the gate and when the Lich King dies.:)

thanks for clearin that up tdog. maybe i'll still get me one after all. let me/us know how well it works out with splitscreen with multiple windows up on it. hope it doesn't cause any lines to stay on the screen after gaming, that's what i was worried about actually.

Np, just to update u I am actually liking this set-up far better than I thought i would. If u do get something this large though u'll want to be able to have the room to sit back a bit. I actually ended up using another stand to set the tv on alittle further back from my desk and a bit lower so that the bottom of the screen sits close to flush with the top of the desk otherwise I'd be staring up.
